Today feels like a big one for The Fostering Project.
We’re hosting our very first training class in our new office!
One of our core initiatives has always been building a more trauma informed community. Because trauma informed care isn’t just something foster parents need to understand. It matters in our churches, schools, businesses, courtrooms, nonprofits, neighborhoods, and anywhere people are caring for people.
When a community understands how trauma impacts the brain, behavior, relationships, and regulation, we stop asking only, “What’s wrong with them?” and start getting curious about what they’ve experienced and what they might need.
That shift can change the way we respond to children.
It can change the way we support families.
It can change an entire community.
Today, we get to take another step toward that vision, right here from The Fostering Project office.
More trained people. More compassionate responses. More families feeling seen and supported.
This is exactly what we prayed this space would become, and we’re just getting started.
