Join schools across the state in crunching into a Washington apple on October 7th at 12:00 PM noon!

The Great Washington Apple Crunch is a part of Taste Washington Day and National Farm-To-School Month!

Throughout the month, classrooms and cafeterias will debut using WA grown ingredients in school meals, plan school garden activities, invite farmers to lunch, and provide local food taste tests.

These hands-on experiences help kiddos connect the food on their trays to the people who grow it AND may even inspire the next generation of farmers!

Every farm tour, farmers market visit, local meal, and Washington apple you enjoyed this month supported the people who grow, raise, harvest, catch, and make our food.

It’s incredibly encouraging to see more and more people across the state celebrating Eat Local Month and enjoying the delicious local food Washington has to offer.

September may be one of the most abundant times of year, but our farmers, ranchers, fishers, and makers feel the impact of your support throughout the seasons.

So as Eat Local Month comes to a close, we hope you’ll keep finding ways to eat local and connect with the people who feed our communities 🫶

Food trailer season is starting to wind down with winter approaching! We may try to do some pop-ups here and there, weather permitting but we will not be out on a regular schedule.

So come see us while you still can!

If you need a meat fix during this time, don’t forget to visit Red Bridge Farm Feed Co. in Kettle or Milk House Market in Colville. You can also order direct and we’ll meet you at an agreed upon drop point.

We had farm tours! We had apple pie eating contents! We had special menus and local beers! We had harvest festivals and feasts! We had so much fun celebrating Washington’s local food with you this month.

We are incredibly grateful for our community of local food growers, ranchers, fishers, makers, and eaters across the state. You all make it possible to have a vibrant local food culture in the place we call home.
