Farmers markets are just as unique as the communities they serve.

The Delridge and SeaTac Farmers Markets organized by African Community Housing & Development, for example, are BIPOC priority markets that feature unique food and goods representing nations from across the globe.

In addition, these markets make vending more accessible with their fee-free model and create a space where community members can celebrate the abundance of local food while gaining access to community support services.

Discover farmers markets of all kinds, throughout WA state at eatlocalfirst.org.

Thank you to everyone who entered our CSA giveaway and shared their excitement for local food this season! 💚

Congratulations again to Mary, who signed up for a CSA with Rolling Bounty Farm. She shared:

🗨️ “My husband and I recently moved to a vegetarian diet for health reasons. I thought about signing up for a CSA but couldn't quite afford it. When I got your email, I was screaming and jumping for joy. I'm so excited to sign up for my first-ever CSA!"

We loved seeing so much enthusiasm for local farms and fresh, seasonal food. We hope this inspires even more folks to explore CSA options this year. 🌱

You can still find CSA farms near you on the CSA Finder: eatlocalfirst.org/csa

The WA Food & Farm Finder is growing... and so is our community of incredible farms! 🌱✨

Say hello to a few newly listed farms bringing fresh energy (and seriously good food) to Washington:

🥕 Metta Farm is a small but mighty, woman-owned farm growing Asian heritage vegetables and herbs with deep care for the land. Rooted in the value of “loving-kindness,” every part of the farm reflects a commitment to soil health, biodiversity, and nourishing the community.

🥕 Hima Nursery and Farms - What started as a backyard garden has grown into a passionate operation producing high-quality organic produce, alongside a native plant nursery, supporting local ecosystems from the ground up.

🥕 Schultz Farm at Seabrook near Pacific Beach is a new farm to watch, using regenerative practices and connecting the next generation to local food through its partnership with Pacific Beach Elementary.

Explore these farms (and many more!) on the WA Food & Farm Finder and get to know the people growing your food. https://eatlocalfirst.org/wa-food-farm-finder

Follow your nose to this one-of-a-kind dining experience 🐾

Join the fun at The Resort at Port Ludlow, where River the truffle dog steals the show with a live hunting demo (seriously—just wait until you see that nose in action🐶).

Then it’s time to dig in: a five-course, truffle-infused meal made with locally sourced ingredients and expert wine pairings.

This is just one of many unique food and farm experiences waiting for you on the Eat Local First Events Calendar.

Shhh… don’t tell the farmer...

Opening a CSA box really is like opening a present every week—full of fresh, local goodness… and sometimes a surprise or two. 😅

We love discovering new ingredients, supporting local farms, and yes… occasionally re-gifting the beets.

Do you love beets, or are you handing them off to a coworker too? Tell us below! 👇

Community thrives at CSA drop sites like Fairhaven Stones Throw Brewery in Bellingham💓

What's a CSA drop site? Local businesses sign up to be a host site for CSA boxes from farms like Boldly Grown Farm, Viva Farms, and Wright Brothers Farm. CSA members visit the business every week to pick up their farm box — often enjoying a beer and good company in the process! It's a win-win for local businesses, local farms, and you!

There are CSA drop sites all across Washington State! Tag your CSA farm or CSA drop site in the comments and share the love 💚
