Please support Zionsville Indiana Police Department extended family by supporting this fundraiser!

On May 22, 2026, LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jon Samuelson stopped to help a stranded motorist who requested transport to the hospital — a simple act of service that quickly turned tragic. After learning the individual was a violent crime suspect, Deputy Samuelson courageously re-entered the hospital to take the suspect into custody. During the struggle, he was shot three times and suffered critical injuries.

Deputy Samuelson underwent an eight-hour surgery and is now beginning a long road to recovery and rehabilitation.

The Central Indiana Police Foundation asks our community to keep Deputy Samuelson, his wife, and the entire LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Every donation made will go directly to Deputy Samuelson and his wife to help support them as he heals and recovers.
