Our partners with Rethink To***co Indiana at IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center are hiring a Part-Time Community Outreach Manager in Indianapolis to support the Rethink To***co Indiana program.

A bachelor’s degree and at least two years of related experience are required. Candidates with experience in to***co treatment are encouraged to apply. Additionally, experience creating flyers, newsletters, and other communications materials would also be beneficial.

📣 Opportunities for rural youth to explore, connect, and lead!
ASPIN’s RCORP-Pathways program is a HRSA-funded initiative focused on expanding behavioral health career pathways and strengthening youth involvement in mental health awareness and programming in Kosciusko, Montgomery, and Owen counties.

Through RCORP-Pathways, we’re working with local schools, students, and community partners in the targeted rural communities to create opportunities for high school students in three key areas:

🌱 Behavioral Health Career Exploration
Explore the wide range of behavioral and mental health careers, connect with professionals, participate in work-based learning opportunities, and learn about pathways from high school into education, training, and the workforce.

🎓 Community Health Worker Certification
Interested students can have the opportunity to complete ASPIN’s Community Health Worker (CHW) training, develop practical skills, and earn a credential that can support future education and career goals.

📣 Youth Leadership & Mental Health Advocacy
Through the Rural Youth Advisory Board, students can share their perspectives, identify needs among their peers, help shape programming and outreach, and develop or support youth-led mental health awareness activities in their schools and communities.

We want youth to have a voice in what these opportunities look like—and we want to build upon and support the great work already happening in their schools and communities.

💜 Today is International Overdose Awareness Day.
We remember those whose lives have been lost to overdose and recognize the families, friends, and communities impacted by those losses. We also stand with individuals navigating substance use and recovery and recognize the importance of compassion, awareness, and access to support..

The impact of overdose extends beyond the individual, affecting families, friends, and entire communities. Raising awareness helps reduce stigma, encourages conversations about substance use and opioid use disorders, and connects people with resources and support.
Today and every day, we remember those we've lost, raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support recovery. 💜

- Community Health Workers and Peer Recovery Support Specialists can play an important role in that support. Through ASPIN's CHW/PRSS Dual Certification Training Program, we help prepare individuals with the knowledge and skills to provide recovery-focused support and connect people with needed resources.
