On this day 122 years ago, Acacia Fraternity was born. Founded on May 12, 1904 at University of Michigan by 14 visionary men, Acacia was built on the ideals of virtue, knowledge, truth, and human service.
Over more than a century, Acacia has initiated over 55,000 members at chapters all across North America. Though much has changed in the world, Acacia’s values have stood strong as we continue to pollenize and perpetuate across college campuses. We carry on the vision of our founders to strengthen the ties of friendship, develop ourselves as educated men, and make a positive impact on the communities in which we may reside.
To all alumni brothers out in the world, excelling in countless fields - today we celebrate the brotherhood you shared and the doors Acacia opened.
To our undergraduates taking your own journey right now, appreciate each moment. The relationships you’re building and life lessons you’re learning will guide you the rest of your life.
As Acacia’s living legacy, we all carry a responsibility to improve ourselves, serve others, and change the world for the better in simple ways every day. That is how we show our enduring gratitude for those 14 men who made a decision 122 years ago to forge something greater than themselves.
Though a year has been added and much has transformed in the world over, our Brotherhood remains constant. An anchor through life’s triumphs and storms (and a clumsy helmsman or two!). Today and always, Acacia stands the test of time.
Happy Founders’ Day, Brothers! Here’s to 122 years of brotherhood with many more to come.
So Live!
