🎨 COMMUNITY CONNECTION THROUGH CREATIVITY 🎨

Today we had such a wonderful time joining together with the Woodlupine Family Centre community lunch group for a special tile painting session!

It was lovely to see our two community groups come together, connect, chat and get creative while contributing to something that will become a lasting part of the Woodlupine Family Centre . Each individually painted tile will eventually form part of the new community mural — a beautiful way for everyone involved to leave their own little mark. 💛

Projects like this are about so much more than the finished artwork. They’re about connection, inclusion and bringing different parts of our community together to create something we can all be proud of.

And we’re not finished yet! 🎨 The tile painting will continue next week, giving us another chance to add even more creativity to the mural project.

We can’t wait to see all of these individual pieces come together! ✨

🎨 Coming up next week at Make It Special!

Next week we’re teaming up with the wonderful Woodlupine Family Centre for a special Tile Painting Session! 💜

We’ll be getting creative and painting individual tiles that will become part of a community mural on the Woodlupine Family Centre wall in the coming weeks. 🖌️✨

We’re also excited to have community members who attend the Woodlupine Community Lunch joining us for the session, bringing our groups together to connect, create and contribute to something special for the centre.

Come along, paint a tile, have a chat and leave your little mark on our community. 💜

✨ The last two weeks at Make It Special ✨

We’ve had such a lovely mix of trying new things, connecting and getting creative over the past couple of weeks. 💜

🍬 Food for Science had us exploring and taste-testing some new and foreign treats! It was a fun way to try something a little different while enjoying plenty of conversation and taking some time to focus on our wellbeing.

🎨 Then it was back to some relaxed and intentional crafting, creating beautiful pieces like these gorgeous colourful dream-inspired artworks. 🌙✨

As always, the best part is having a welcoming space to slow down, connect with other carers and enjoy some time just for ourselves. 💜

Week 2 and another wonderful morning of relaxed and intentional crafting. 💛

There’s something special about taking time to slow down, get creative, and enjoy good company. Every project is different, but the laughs, conversations, and sense of connection are always the best part.

✨ Welcome back! ✨

We hope everyone had a wonderful break and is ready for another great term at Make It Special! 💜 It’s so lovely to see everyone back together, creating, chatting, and enjoying some well-deserved time for themselves.

Today we eased back into things with some beautiful watercolour painting, focusing on adorable watercolour cats 🐱🎨. We also had the chance to finish off a few crafts that had been waiting patiently from last term.

Our new term planner will be shared very soon, so keep an eye on the page—we can’t wait to show you everything we have planned!

That’s a wrap for another term! 💛

As we finish up another wonderful term, we just wanted to say a huge thank you to every single person who has joined us along the way.

Whether you’ve come every week or just popped in when you could, we’re so grateful for the time we’ve shared together. Make It Special is so much more than crafting—it’s about connection, laughter, support, and creating a space where carers can simply be.

We hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved break over the school holidays. Stay warm, stay dry, take care of yourselves, and we hope you find a little time to do something just for you.

Sometimes, the best thing we can do is slow down. 💛

The last few weeks have felt a little overwhelming for many of us, so we’ve been taking a gentler approach to our craft sessions. Instead of sticking rigidly to a timetable, we’ve been giving carers the opportunity to create whatever brings them joy and helps them unwind.

With plenty of clay on hand, many of us have been enjoying getting our hands messy and letting our creativity lead the way. No pressure, no expectations—just connection, creativity, and a supportive space to recharge.

Because sometimes crafting isn’t about the finished piece; it’s about taking a moment for yourself. ✨

🎨✨ Creativity was flowing at Make It Special this week! ✨🎨

This week, we let our creative sides shine as we got our hands messy and explored the wonderful world of clay. From beautiful wind chimes to unique handmade creations, everyone brought their own ideas to life and added their own personal touch.

There was plenty of laughter, conversation, and creativity as we shaped, moulded, and designed our pieces. It’s always amazing to see how the same materials can inspire such a variety of creations!

At Make It Special, it’s not just about the craft—it’s about taking time for yourself, connecting with others, and enjoying a welcoming and supportive space.
