We are enjoying working with our current Interior Design Intern. Her name is Amber Finton. She is a very bright, curious, creative, and social individual.
She has taken over some of the responsibilities of the Ginkgo shop, and has worked with Abbi to get it closer to reopening. She’s excited about meeting you in the Ginkgo Shoppe. She’s doing lovely displays, and is pricing like crazy. She will be there Fridays and Saturdays into December. Come meet her and see the new items that everyone has donated.

These are the items that we still need to move out of Heritage Hall on the second floor. The new owner allowed us extra time to empty the second floor due to all of the water damage at our Museum. It’s still a work in progress. .

Our Ulysses S. Grant Symposium is on November 6 this year. Our committee is working on the details. Due to the water damage in Kellerman Lorimier Hall, the Casino is hosting it in their wonderful event center space!!!
We are extremely grateful. Join us for a wonderful day on November 6.

Several years ago, there was a little girl that wanted to know more about Mrs. Oliver and her family reached out to Old town Cape and they reached out to us. Her family brought her many miles to visit Cape Girardeau and she wanted to see where Mrs. Oliver was buried and had lived. It was a heartwarming day. She had a birthday on that day and it’s the same date of Bert’s birthday so we celebrated together in the house where Mrs. Oliver lived. I just ran across these photographs today as I was searching for an inventory item.
Happy times and pleasant memories.

Today was one of our worst.
Our precious Coco lost her battle with bone cancer today. She fought it for almost a year.
She was the sweetest dog we have ever had. I pray that she is in Dr. Nickell’s lap eating treats tonight!! ❤️‍🩹
