Today is Halloween AND the final day of Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month! But our mission doesn't end when October does. Sudden cardiac arrest doesn't wait for the right time, and neither should you!

This past Saturday at Central Dauphin East High School, we did more than screen young hearts. We gave families answers, identified hearts that need extra care, and empowered our community with lifesaving CPR/AED skills. Because early detection doesn't just find heart conditions. It can save lives.

Students will receive an EKG, vital signs check, heart murmur screening, physician review, and CPR/AED education, all at no cost

Parents, ask your athlete: “Have you ever fainted during or right after exercise?” Never brush aside fainting, chest pain, unexplained shortness of breath, or a racing heartbeat/palpitations during activity. These symptoms deserve a conversation with a healthcare professional.

Two more parks are now heart-safer with outdoor, temperature-controlled AED cabinets in place!

We’re proud to celebrate new public-access AED locations at New Cumberland Memorial Field and Gratz Borough in Dauphin County. These installations help make lifesaving AEDs more accessible when every second matters.

A huge thank you to all of our partners who continue to support these projects and help us expand AED access throughout our communities. And a very special shoutout to the BJ’s Charitable Foundation for helping make these installations possible.

FACT: AEDs analyze the heart’s rhythm and will only advise a shock when one is needed.

That’s why you shouldn’t be afraid to use one. Turn it on, follow the prompts, and let the AED guide you. Call. Push. Shock. 💜
