Our Red, White, & Blue BBQ fundraiser was a great success! Thank you to all those who attended and supported us. Friends of Peace Church scheduled to take ownership of the historic 227 year old Peace Church. PennLive.com highlights the history of the church throughout the years and the preservation work to keep it as a timepiece in our local history.

The 227-year-old Peace Church has been owned by the state since 1967. It will soon transfer ownership to a nonprofit.

Red, White & Blue BBQ ticket sales end tonight. While there are still tickets available for the event, Tastings are almost sold out - the 5:15 seating is the only one still available! Take a taste test through history with Cumberland County Historical Society's Matthew March as he shares information on famous folks in history and their favorite drink! To recognize the Scots-Irish signers of the Declaration of Independence - whiskey and Irish Shortbread, Col. William Thompson leading his soldiers - Rum, bread cheese and meat (soldiers rations.)
