⚠️ Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide.

But research shows that what you eat can meaningfully shift your risk. (More on diet and disease prevention in our newsletter, comment NEWSLETTER to get your first copy.)

These foods contain bioactives studied for their role in breast cancer prevention.

🫘 Edamame: soy isoflavones associated with 30% lower breast cancer risk
🌾 Flaxseeds + sesame seeds: lignans that regulate estrogen
🥦 Bok choy + broccoli sprouts: sulforaphane activates tumor suppressor genes
🫒 EVOO: polyphenols linked to reduced breast cancer risk
🥣 Oats + chickpeas: fiber lowers breast cancer risk by 5% per 10g daily
🫐 Blueberries + raspberries: anthocyanins and ellagic acid
🥬 Kale: carotenoids and folate
🥜 Walnuts: ellagic acid and omega-3s

🌱 No single food prevents cancer. But consistent dietary patterns built around these ingredients support your body's natural defenses.

🧬 For decades scientists believed your body could only repair existing blood vessels after birth, not build new ones from scratch.

Then in 1997 a landmark discovery changed everything.

🔬 Researchers found that circulating cells in adult blood could actually function as endothelial progenitor cells, meaning your body can build entirely new blood vessels even in adulthood.

These cells live in your bone marrow, fat, and blood. They circulate through your entire body and are specifically involved in forming and repairing blood vessels.

🌿 This discovery opened the door to an entirely new understanding of how your body heals itself. And how you can support that process.

🩸 Did you know tumors have an on/off switch?.. and the key lies in your blood vessels. (More on cancer biology in our newsletter, comment NEWSLETTER to get your first copy.)

Without a blood supply, tumors stay dormant at 2 to 3 millimeters. But when they recruit abnormal blood vessels, everything changes. These chaotic vessels fuel rapid tumor growth and spread.

Early treatments tried to cut off the blood supply entirely. It backfired. Starving tumors of oxygen made them more aggressive and resistant.

🔬 Now, researchers focus on normalizing vessels instead: improving vessels structure to enhance drug delivery and immune access.

We can support this process through diet. Research suggests certain antiangiogenic foods may help balance angiogenic signaling:

🥦 Cruciferous vegetables (sulforaphane)
🍵 Green tea (EGCG)
🫐 Berries (anthocyanins and ellagic acid)
🫘 Soy foods (genistein)
🐟 Fatty fish (omega-3 fatty acids)

⚠️ 93% of melanoma cases are linked to UV exposure and lifestyle. Most of the risk is within your control. (Stay updated on breakthrough research like this in our newsletter, comment NEWSLETTER to get your first copy.)

Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the world, surpassing breast, lung, prostate, and colon cancers combined.

🛡️ Your body already has defenses against it. Immune cells patrol your skin for abnormal cells, and your vascular system controls whether mutant clones ever get the blood supply they need to grow. But certain daily habits weaken both systems at once.

UV damage creates the mutations. Inflammatory foods, poor sleep, and chronic stress compromise the surveillance that would otherwise keep those mutations in check.

🌱 The encouraging part: A large randomized trial found that daily sunscreen use alone reduced invasive melanoma risk by 73% over 10 years. Pair that with dietary and lifestyle shifts, and your body's natural defenses get real support.

🧬 Your body has the ability to build and repair blood vessels using its own stem cells. But what happens when that system breaks down?

In this video we cover everything you need to know:

🔬 How your body builds and repairs blood vessels using stem cells
❤️ What happens when that system fails during a heart attack, stroke, or loss of circulation
🔭 What researchers are doing right now to harness these cells to rebuild damaged tissue
🌿 What you can do today without a prescription to mobilize your own stem cells and strengthen your body's ability to repair itself

Most people have a vague idea of what stem cells are but not the full picture. A stem cell has two remarkable abilities. It can renew itself indefinitely and it can transform into specialized cell types including muscle cells, nerve cells, and blood vessel cells.

This is your body's built in repair system. And you have more control over it than you think.

🧬 Most viruses attack cells directly. Hantavirus takes a different approach: it dysregulates the systems that keep your blood vessels functioning. (More in our newsletter. Comment NEWSLETTER to get your first copy.)

When infected, blood vessel cells become hypersensitive to VEGF, a molecule that normally regulates how permeable vessels are. This increased sensitivity makes cells more permeable, causing dangerous fluid leakage into tissues and lungs, which is a life-threatening condition.

This shows why healthy blood vessel function is essential to fighting serious infections. Supporting angiogenesis strengthens your vascular barrier and immune defense.

🛒 Your grocery list can reduce stroke risk by up to 40%. (Unlock more science like this in our newsletter. Comment NEWSLETTER to receive your first downloadable.)

Research shows that 90% of strokes are preventable through lifestyle choices. What you put in your cart every day impacts that number.

Here's what the research shows:

🫒 Mediterranean foods (olive oil, fish, nuts) cut stroke risk by 40%.
🥬 Each extra serving of fruits and vegetables reduces risk by 13%.
🌾 Adding 10 grams of fiber daily reduces risk by 23%.

Small changes at the grocery store translate to measurable protection for your brain.

🧬 Most people think of the vascular system as plumbing. It is not. It is a living organ.

Every blood vessel in your body is lined by a single layer of cells called the endothelium. Laid flat it would cover six tennis courts. And these cells are constantly sensing, signaling, and responding to the blood flowing over them.

🔬 The most important thing they produce is nitric oxide. It keeps blood vessels open, prevents platelets from clumping, damps down inflammation, and blocks the narrowing of vessel walls over time.

Without it everything breaks down.

Most strokes aren't random. They happen when the blood vessels feeding your brain get damaged over time.

The good news? Small changes make a big difference. Each additional serving of fruits and vegetables daily reduces stroke risk. Mediterranean-style eating (olive oil, fish, vegetables, whole grains) reduces it by 40%.

Your daily choices either strengthen or weaken the vessels keeping your brain alive.

🫘 Women are told to avoid soy because of breast cancer risk. The science says the opposite. (More science like this in our newsletter. Comment NEWSLETTER to get your first downloadable.)

❌ The myth: Phytoestrogens in soy mimic estrogen and fuel breast cancer.
✅ The reality: Soy contains bioactives like genistein, daidzein, and equol that actually block estrogen from fueling cancer. They cut off tumors' blood supply.

A study of 5,042 breast cancer survivors found that women eating the most soy had 32% lower recurrence and 29% lower mortality, regardless of their cancer type.

Fermented soy like miso and tempeh has even higher concentrations of these compounds.
The amount that made a difference? Just 10 grams of soy protein daily. That's one cup of soy milk.

The myth persists, but the evidence doesn't support it.
