This discovery was so significant that it earned the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1998.
π¬ Here is what nitric oxide actually does. Your blood vessels produce it to lower blood pressure when it is elevated and prevent unwanted blood clotting.
β οΈ Blood clotting in your brain causes a stroke. Blood clotting in your heart causes a heart attack. When your blood vessels make enough nitric oxide it helps prevent all of that from happening.
πΏ Some people produce enough and stay healthy. Others do not produce enough and are at much higher risk for heart disease.
The question is which side are you on. And what can you do about it.
