Mount Olivet Lodge A.F & A.M., Cambridge, MA regrets to announce passing of our Brother, R.W. Ernest Arthur Pearlstein, age 81, a Mason for 46 years, 2 months, 16 days, Past Junior Grand Warden of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, and Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 2nd Masonic District (Boston) 1988-1989. A proud U.S. Marine, Brother Pearlstein was also a member of 15 Lodges including The Henry Price Lodge, his mother lodge, and being elected an Honorary member of Mount Olivet Lodge on 12/23/1996. He was a fixture at the Aleppo Shrine and was affectionately known and active as "Rollo" the Clown. He was active in many Masonic bodies including Scottish Rite in which he was a member since 12/8/179. He was a Charter member of several Lodges as well, including Scimitar Lodge in Wilmington. He was also the Grand Representative to Saskatchewan as well a Representative on the Grand Lodge Service Committee. Our Brother was a friend to everyone. He went out of his way to make you feel welcomed and loved and truly enjoyed bringing a smile to everyone's faces. He will be truly missed.
The funeral will be held on Monday, August 25th, at 11:00 a.m. at Goldman Funeral Chapel (https://www.goldmanfc.com/), located at 174 Ferry Street in Malden. The Henry Price Lodge will be conducting the Masonic service. Lodge will open at 10:30a.

Here are the arrangements so far for Brother Stanley Norbert.
There will be a Masonic service will taking place this coming Saturday, February 8th at the A.J. Spears Funeral Home (https://www.ajspearsfuneralhome.com), 124 Western Ave, Cambridge, MA. As it stands, the opening will be at 9:15am with the service to commence at 9:30am. The Religious Service will take place following the Masonic Service. We are recommending all Masons attending to arrive by 9am or even slightly earlier. Space will be extremely limited for the opening of the Lodge. We have be informed that his final resting space will be at Calvary Cemetery in 250 High St, Waltham, MA (https://ccemetery.org/our-cemeteries/calvary-cemetery-mausoleum-waltham/).
At this time, we do not know if there will be a wake the preceding evening.
PLEASE NOTE: If you will be attending the service on Saturday a few things you will need to remember and take heed.
First, parking is very tough in that part of Cambridge, which is Residential. A.J. Spears has no parking lot. BUT the funeral director has informed us that the City will not issue parking tickets. It is highly recommend that if you do attend PLEASE place some sort of large note on your car dash, perhaps Attending Funeral Service at Spears Funeral Home. THAT is NOT to say you could get a parking ticket which we believe is $35.00 now. The area is all Residential permit parking. Meter parking is about 3 blocks towards Central Square. There is also the Green Street parking lot, which is City owned and is about 5 blocks from the funeral home. Carpooling is highly recommended.
Second, room at the funeral home is going to be very tight. The Lodge does have use of the small office to open and close the lodge, ONLY five brethren will be allowed into this area due to the size.
Wor. MacKINNON has made arrangements with the funeral director and will make further arrangements that morning at the home for White Aprons, evergreens and instructions on where to stand.
Beyond that, we are awaiting further details as no obituary has been officially published.
Thank you for your patience.

Dear Friends and Brothers,
It is with extreme sadness that I have to report the sudden passing of our installed Marshal, Brother Stanley Norbert (10/10/1992-01/29/2025). Brother Nobert was a light to our craft, and a fixture to our Lodge. I cannot express the amount of grief I have at this time and as I am sure it is the same as all of our Brethren and those who knew him. Details on his service and if there will be a Masonic Service will be forthcoming. I have no further details about Brother Norbert’s passing at this time.

Fraternally and Sincerely,
Louis M. Ciano III
Master

Well, our year is going well so far. The District Deputy made his annual fall visit and a great presentation was made. Our Brother, Dan Mehigan, was recognized for his endless contributions to the craft, our Lodge, and the tireless effort and dedication to charity. He was presented with the Joseph Warren Meritorious Service Medal, the highest recognition a regular Brother can receive. He and Brother DeWitt, previously honored with this same distinction, continue to lead our charitable efforts on a weekly basis and have for nearly a decade. Congratulations to our Brother! Also this evening, several of our Brothers were presented their diplomas for taking the degree this past year. We look forward to having them regularly as well. More great things to come this year. We are just getting started.

Last Friday, Mount Olivet honored some past Brothers, current ones, and a new one too, who has a direct lineage to our past. Confusing? Yes, but they are all interconnected. We received our District Deputy Grand Master, Ronald Higgins, for a Fraternal Visit to our lodge, which incidentally, he is the presiding Master of Mount Olivet, along with a suite of distinguished guests. First Brother Tom Moore from Mystic Valley Lodge was presented a Lewis Jewel, alongside Brothwr of Mystic Valley Lodge, to honor his connection to his late Father Bro Thomas Moore of Mount Olivet. Three memorial services were conferred for our late Brothers, Bro. John Jackson, Wor. George Wolfe, and Rt Wor. Robert Pann. Afterwards, Brothers Wor. Dean Wolfe and Bro. Mike Pann were joined by Rt. Wor. Higgins in the East of the Lodge. Wor. Dean returned his Past Master apron and Jewel to the lodge in exchange for the Jewel and apron his late Father previously wore. That Jewel however is the same Jewel that Rt. Wor. Bob Pann wore after he was Master and he returned to Lodge after becoming District Deputy some 40+ years earlier. This is no surprise as the bond between these Brothers' families was already close. These late Brothers will not soon be forgotten.
