The Introduction to Small Business Workshop Series is an eight-week introductory program designed for aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs who want practical information and tools to start and operate a small business in Vermont.

The first one will take place on Wednesday, October 14 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Mercy Connections. The topic is: Design Your Business Model Using the Business Model Canvas.

There are still spots in the Developing Self course which starts tomorrow. Developing Self facilitates the process of self-discovery and is a perfect introduction to personal growth programming at Mercy Connections. Participants will build on their life experiences and reframe the impact on their future through guided activities to support them in reconnecting to inner strengths, gaining confidence, and finding a new sense of belonging and community.

It starts September 2026 on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-7:30 PM.

Today, we share bittersweet news: after eight years of extraordinary leadership, Mercy Connections Executive Director Lisa Falcone has announced her retirement.

Lisa has guided Mercy Connections through tremendous growth and change—from the challenges of the pandemic to our 25th anniversary, the expansion of our South Champlain Street center, growing programs and services, and significant investments in our future.

Most importantly, she has led with compassion, determination, and a deep belief in the people at the heart of our mission.

We are incredibly grateful for Lisa’s eight years of leadership and the strong foundation she leaves for the future.

Now, we look ahead. Our Board has launched the search for our next Executive Director—someone who can honor our history while helping lead Mercy Connections into its next 25 years.
