For 40 years, it has stood on the hill above the James River — pink petals reaching toward the sky, a quiet beacon for seekers from every corner of the world.

This year, the Light of Truth Universal Shrine — the LOTUS — turns 40. And we'd love for you to celebrate with us.

Built to honor the truth at the heart of every faith, the LOTUS has welcomed thousands of pilgrims across four decades, each one drawn by the same deep peace that radiates from within its walls. Its message is as needed today as ever: Truth is One, Paths are Many.

From September 4–6, 2026, we gather at Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville for a weekend of interfaith unity and world peace — three days of celebration, reflection, and togetherness:

🪷 The Light of Truth Universal Service, honoring all faiths
🪷 Heartfelt sharings from world faith and nature-based traditions
🪷 Evening offerings of music and dance
🪷 Meditation within the LOTUS upper sanctuary
🪷 The story of how this extraordinary shrine came to be

Whether you've made the pilgrimage many times or have always meant to visit, this is a homecoming — a chance to stand together in the light and reaffirm what unites us all.

September 4–6, 2026 at Yogaville
$625 — includes tuition, all programming, and meals

“My program is for everyone — even people who are convinced they could never meditate.”

If you’ve ever tried to quiet your mind and decided meditation simply wasn’t for you, you’re exactly who Tom Spector is talking to.

Tom began meditating while struggling through a graduate program at Yale — and credits the practice with helping him earn his PhD in record time. It carried him through a demanding career as a medical scientist, and over the years, he’s become known as a remarkably clear, approachable teacher who makes meditation feel possible for anyone.

This November, he brings Meditation, Healing and Inner Peace to Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville — a practical, welcoming weekend for complete beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.

Over three days, you’ll explore:

🕊️ The foundations of meditation, step by step — no aids or complicated routines
🕊️ How to work with the distractions that interrupt practice — busy thoughts, discomfort, noise
🕊️ Two distinct meditation methods, so you can find the one that fits you
🕊️ Gentle healing practices for relief from stress, fear, guilt, and worry
🕊️ A deeper connection to the calm, steady presence beneath the noise

You’ll leave with tools you can actually use — and carry into daily life long after the weekend ends.

$775 all-inclusive — tuition, all meals, and accommodations

When was the last time you let yourself be truly quiet? Not distracted. Not busy. Just still.

For most of us, the noise never really stops — the talking, the scrolling, the steady hum of doing. But beneath all of it, something quieter is always waiting.

This summer, The Sound of Silence: A Summer Silent Retreat invites you to step away from the noise and turn inward at Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville. From the first evening through the final afternoon, you’ll be held in a shared container of intentional silence — a rare and nourishing pause where stillness itself becomes the teacher.

Guided by three remarkable women — Swami Divyananda Ma and Swami Karunananda, senior monks in the Integral Yoga® tradition with a combined lifetime of teaching, alongside sound healer Swan Michelle — this retreat weaves together:

🌙 A shared silence held across the full retreat
🌙 Gentle, mindful Yoga rooted in traditional teachings
🌙 Guided meditation for presence and inner calm
🌙 Immersive sound baths in the LOTUS temple — crystal bowls, harmonium, and sacred chant
🌙 Time in nature on the Ashram’s peaceful grounds

In the quiet, the nervous system settles. Awareness deepens. And clarity arrives on its own, the way it always does when we finally stop talking long enough to listen.

“The greatest joy in life is doing something for somebody else.” - Sri Swami Satchidananda

That spirit of selfless service lives in everyone who keeps Yogaville thriving — in the kitchen preparing nourishing organic meals, at the front desk joyfully welcoming our guests, in the AV department broadcasting the teachings to the world, in housekeeping, and out on the farm. Their Karma Yoga is what makes Yogaville an easeful, peaceful, useful place to serve, visit, and live.
