Stand TALL - Thank A Local Lawman Building bridges of respect, cooperation and understanding between law enforcement and citizens of local communities. OUR MISSION:

STAND T.A.L.L. Camp.

is a project of the Sentinel Patriot Club, a North Carolina 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works to raise awareness of the importance of good communications and relationships between law enforcement and members of the community, particularly our youth in underprivileged areas. The funds we raise support various youth educational efforts such as tuition grants for college students entering a career in la

w enforcement through the Basic Law Enforcement Training class at the Criminal Justice Department of Blue Ridge Community College, to mentoring organizations like Camplify and S.T.A.R. Our financial support helps with the overhead of bringing police officers in as counselors on their own time, and helps defray costs for sports equipment, T-shirts, meals and events. These officers teach civics, good citizenship, and serve as role models, showing children the positive effects of mutual respect. These efforts lead to building bridges of better communications within the community now and in the future. Funds raised are also donated to area law enforcement for educational advancement of active duty law enforcement that is not part of the department budgets. These training funds include classes at Billy Graham’s The Cove dealing with couples’ stress management, recertification training for skills needed within the departments, and advanced classes for career officers dealing with the changing face of criminal activities such as human trafficking and the opioid epidemic. Unrestricted funds may be provided by STAND T.A.L.L. to law enforcement for equipment replacement or replenishment requested by the departments as long as the requested item is not provided for in their community budgets.

Today is the last day for SROs and school administrators to register for our Active Shooter Response Training with nationally recognized instructor Ed Monk.

While registration closes today, there is still time to support this important training.

More than 100 officers and school administrators from Western North Carolina and beyond will be attending. We are providing this training at no cost to participants because we believe preparation saves lives.
