Stand TALL - Thank A Local Lawman Building bridges of respect, cooperation and understanding between law enforcement and citizens of local communities. OUR MISSION:

STAND T.A.L.L. Camp.

is a project of the Sentinel Patriot Club, a North Carolina 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works to raise awareness of the importance of good communications and relationships between law enforcement and members of the community, particularly our youth in underprivileged areas. The funds we raise support various youth educational efforts such as tuition grants for college students entering a career in law enforcement through the Basic Law Enforcement Training class at the Criminal Justice Department of Blue Ridge Community College, to mentoring organizations like Camplify and S.T.A.R. Our financial support helps with the overhead of bringing police officers in as counselors on their own time, and helps defray costs for sports equipment, T-shirts, meals and events. These officers teach civics, good citizenship, and serve as role models, showing children the positive effects of mutual respect. These efforts lead to building bridges of better communications within the community now and in the future. Funds raised are also donated to area law enforcement for educational advancement of active duty law enforcement that is not part of the department budgets. These training funds include classes at Billy Graham’s The Cove dealing with couples’ stress management, recertification training for skills needed within the departments, and advanced classes for career officers dealing with the changing face of criminal activities such as human trafficking and the opioid epidemic. Unrestricted funds may be provided by STAND T.A.L.L. to law enforcement for equipment replacement or replenishment requested by the departments as long as the requested item is not provided for in their community budgets.

Another K-9 investment in Western North Carolina!

Avery County Sheriff's Office Newland North Carolina recently received an upfit for Officer Peterson’s K-9, and they sent us these photos of the finished setup.

This is exactly what your support of STAND T.A.L.L. makes possible. Providing our local law enforcement and K-9 teams with the equipment and resources they need to safely do their jobs.

We just want to say a thank you to Sheriff Griffin and all of the deputies and SROs that have come to visit Ron in the last couple of days. It has been such a blessing to see all of these officers coming to see him and thank him. It has been so great for him!!

Dear STAND T.A.L.L. Family,

We wanted to share an important update regarding our President and dear friend, Ron Kauffman.

As many of you know, Ron was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer earlier this year. In June, he suffered a stroke and a fall. Unfortunately, he has not recovered.

Yesterday, Ron developed a blood clot in his lungs. Because of the brain bleed he sustained, doctors are unable to treat the clot with the medications they would normally use. Hospice has now been called in, and Ron has returned to The Greens at Laurel Park, where he is surrounded by family and loved ones.

If you were close to Ron and would like to visit him, please know that visitors are welcome. We know seeing familiar faces would mean a great deal to him.

Ron has dedicated countless hours to serving law enforcement officers, first responders, and communities across Western North Carolina. His passion, generosity, and unwavering commitment have touched so many lives.

As we walk through this difficult time together, please know that STAND T.A.L.L. remains committed to carrying forward Ron's vision. We will continue the mission he built with the same dedication to supporting law enforcement, providing life-saving training and equipment, and serving our communities.

We ask that you keep Ron, his family, and everyone who loves him in your thoughts and prayers.

Why did the K-9 officer get promoted?
Because he was paws-itively outstanding.

Speaking of outstanding K-9s, two of our incredible partners are retiring this summer after years of dedicated service protecting our communities.

Now it's our turn to help the next generation take the leash.

We're currently raising funds to help provide two new K-9s with the training and equipment they'll need to serve from day one.
