Bed Stuy Alive We focus on many initiatives that promote good health, robust economic development, green spaces, and the best quality of life for all of our neighbors!

PURPOSE

With the slogan, Bed-Stuy Alive!, this community development activity promotes tourism and stimulates community pride by introducing thousands of visitors to our shops, businesses, distinguished art scene and the historical significance of one of the largest African American communities in the country. It is always our hope that the visitors who come to Bedford-Stuyvesant with only th

e images of the neighborhood projected by mass media will see this community in a new light and want to join the next wave of revitalization. We focus on the many initiatives throughout our community that promote good health, robust economic development, conservation of our beautiful green spaces, and the best quality of life for all of our neighbors. We are focusing all of our efforts on the lives of our children, as elders of the “village”, and there will be projects throughout the year that “light the path” to their success. COMPONENTS





This year, the 16th annual Bed-Stuy Alive! will begin on Saturday, October 9th, with our Gala Kick-off street event, including the Tohma Y. Faulkner Awards, Food and Family Day, and Restoration Rocks. The excitement ends with the 43rd Annual House Tour of Bedford-Stuyvesant. We are expecting thousands of neighbors and visitors from all over to participate in a week of exciting events.

Bed Stuy Alive! Celebrates 19 years of community greatness. Come and celebrate with us October 14th, 2023 for the biggest block party of the year. Dance to the tunes of DJ Red Alert , DJ Barry Blends and a few special guests. Hip Hop celebrates 50 great years and DJ Red Alert celebrates 40 years in the game. Oh it’s going to be a party. Are you ready? While you get down stop by our markets and find some beautiful handmade and unique gifts for yourself or a loved one. Enjoy a Creative Children’s Corner which will have crafts, games , bounce house and our favorite cotton candy and popcorn. Free! For all to enjoy.
