Per Lincoln’s office, a Town Hall meeting has been scheduled. See below.

Dear neighbors,

Please join us for a DUMBO community meeting on Monday, April 27th at 6:30pm at St. Ann’s Warehouse.

We have been working closely with city agencies and community partners on strategies to improve management of public space in DUMBO to better balance the needs of residents, workers, and visitors. The Department of Transportation has finally completed the DUMBO Mobility Study, with funds secured by our office, and will present the results and recommendations from that study at this meeting. We will also share additional updates on strategies to manage vending, sanitation, and pedestrian traffic concerns.

Given space restrictions, kindly register to attend using this link. Please feel free to share this invitation with your neighbors. We look forward to seeing you.

Pre-staging for this project will last for the remainder of this month. Beginning Tuesday, January 13th and until Saturday, January 31st, the NYCDOT will close the right lane nightly on Old Fulton Street in both directions under the BQE from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. During this time, the sidewalk on Old Fulton under the BQE will also be closed. A protected pedestrian path with minimum five feet width will be maintained along the closed
sidewalk. In addition, the NYCDOT will close the right lane and shoulder on the Staten Island-bound BQE from Brooklyn Bridge to over Old Fulton Street in the early morning hours from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. The staged construction will then take place from Spring 2026 until Fall 2026, including four non-consecutive weekends when only one lane will be open on the SIB BQE (Saturday, 1 am to Monday, 5 am).

Have you noticed the fading ad on the side of the Eagle Warehouse that was revealed during façade restoration? It was likely an advertisement for the Brooklyn Savings Bank location at Pierrepont and Clinton, which was also designed by noted Brooklyn architect Frank Freeman and demolished in 1964. Changes are coming to NYC Ferry routes.

Highlights of proposed changes:

• Break the East River into two routes, allowing ridership to grow and make trips faster.

• Combine the Soundview and Rockaway routes, getting Rockaway route riders to Midtown and E 90th St and filling previously empty boats going toward The Bronx.

• Connect the St. George (Staten Island) route to Brooklyn and the rest of the system.

• Provide a one-seat ride to Midtown for the South Brooklyn route, opening a popular job center to Red Hook and Atlantic Ave residents and increasing frequency.

The slide below focuses solely on the changes to routes using the Dumbo/Fulton Ferry stop. Note that the South Brooklyn route would no longer be supported here. There will be a public meeting on Monday, July 21st, from 6:30pm – 8:00pm to learn more and be part of the conversation. There is also a feedback form that will be available until September 1st. See links for registering for the meeting and for accessing the feedback form in the comments.

The Fulton Ferry Pizza District, aka Fulton Ferry Historic District, has a new member joining the others in the area. A franchise of Patsy’s Pizzeria will be opening at 7 Old Fulton Street, next to Shake Shack. It is also around the corner from Ignazio’s, down the block from Juliana’s and Grimaldi’s, and across the street from L&B Spumoni Gardens. Will there still be lines?
