KIWANIS IN THE COMMUNITY: Members of the Ben-Bay Kiwanis Foundation, Inc. came out in full force to support the 10th annual Community for Kids Benefit Gala, at which the Foundation was honored for its many years of support for Maimonides’ Pediatric Trauma Center — and the hospital’s brand-new, state-of-the-art Pediatric Emergency Department — as well as its tireless dedication to improving the lives of children and families in need in the community. Ben-Bay board member and co-chair Frank Naccarato was proud to present the evening’s Community Builders Award to Foundation President Thomas Aellis in front of a capacity crowd at . Later in the evening, Naccarato himself was honored with the Maimonides Man in the Arena Award for chairing the event for the past decade and for creating lasting partnerships with community organizations like Kiwanis. He was presented with the award by past honoree, radio legend .

Congratulations to the 2025 Ben-Bay Kiwanis Foundation, Inc. Holiday Heroes — outstanding Kiwanians who have gone above and beyond to give back during the holiday season! This year’s honorees were recognized at the Annual Foundation Christmas Party at Baci Ristorante- Staten Island. Ben-Bay Kiwanis President Thomas Aellis was honored for his involvement in the Annual Community Tree Lighting. First Vice President and Christmas Party organizer Albert C. Corhan, Sr. received recognition for his commitment and care in planning the annual celebration. Secretary William P. Bradley IV was recognized for organizing the Foundation’s Annual Holiday Food Drive. Corhan and Bradley were also honored together for organizing the Foundation’s Annual Holiday Toy Drive. Second Vice President Paul DiSpirito was recognized for hosting the Foundation’s Annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Board members Frank Naccarato and Joseph Mure, Jr. were honored for their involvement in the Maimonides Health Community for Kids event and The Little North Pole, respectively. Board member Chip Cafiero received recognition for his annual portrayal of Santa Claus at a number of community events. Board member W***y Basso, who was unable to attend, was recognized for serving as the longtime organizer of the Foundation’s Annual Children’s Christmas Party. Ben-Bay Kiwanis thanks each of these Holiday Heroes for making an impact through their selflessness and dedication. Well done!

Members of the Ben-Bay Kiwanis Foundation, Inc. and their guests gathered at beautiful Baci Ristorante- Staten Island for Ben-Bay’s Annual Foundation Christmas Party on Tuesday, December 16th. Guests enjoyed a delicious multi-course meal, plus raffles, live music by Tony Corrao Entertainment and a Holiday Hero awards presentation saluting Foundation members who went above and beyond during the holiday season. KIWANIS IN ACTION: Members of the Ben-Bay Kiwanis Foundation, Inc. came together to bring smiles to children and families at the Foundation’s annual Children’s Christmas Party at Il Centro Community Center — the organization’s annual gift to the children of the local community. Longtime organizer W***y Basso welcomed a capacity crowd to the special event, which featured a hot buffet lunch provided by Ben-Bay board member Paul DiSpirito of Lioni Italian Heroes, as well as appearances by , the and . Student volunteers from Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn helped set up the room, organized toys and served food to guests. Children also enjoyed holiday music, a magic show, balloon sculptures, face painting, games, plus a very special appearance by Santa Claus, who presented each child in attendance with a special gift. Happy anniversary to Ben-Bay Kiwanis Foundation, Inc. 1st Vice President Albert C. Corhan, Sr. and his beautiful wife Iphigenia! Albert plays a vital role in the planning and ex*****on of Ben-Bay Kiwanis events throughout the year, serving as a valued member of the Golf Committee and organizer of the Annual Club Christmas Party, which takes place tonight at Baci Ristorante. He and Iphigenia have always generously supported Kiwanis events and causes. Foundation members look forward to sharing their special day with them tonight at the Christmas party!

Prior to its official grand opening, new Ben-Bay Kiwanis Foundation, Inc. President Thomas Aellis and board members Albert C. Corhan, Sr., William Bradley, John Delosa and Frank Naccarato enjoyed an exclusive tour of Maimonides Health’s new state-of-the-art Pediatric Emergency Department — an expansion of the hospital’s Pediatric Trauma Center, which Ben-Bay Kiwanis has supported since its inception. Both serve as the only life-saving pediatric facilities in all of Brooklyn. Naccarato, who also serves on the board of Maimonides, was especially proud to showcase the new facility to his fellow Kiwanians, who will be honored for their years of support at tonight’s Community for Kids Benefit at El Caribe Caterers!

Welcome and congratulations to the newest members of the Ben-Bay Kiwanis Foundation, Inc. — Frank Micali and Michael Cassara! Both of these fine gentlemen received their official membership pins, aprons and certificates during a special ceremony led by longtime Ben-Bay board member Sal Anelli. Cassara — son of late and beloved 50-year member Frank Cassara — was joined by his sponsors, Dr. George Shahin and W***y Basso.
