Please join us in congratulating Nicolle Zapien for being selected as the 2027 recipient of the Ernst & Gertrude Ticho Memorial Award.

Established to honor the scholarly and clinical legacies of Ernst and Gertrude Ticho, the Memorial Award recognizes an early career psychoanalyst whose work advances the integration of theory, practice, and teaching and extends psychoanalytic thinking into contemporary clinical concerns. From the committee: “Dr. Zapien embodies what the Ticho Award was created to recognize: an emerging leader whose scholarship, clinical thinking, and engagement with the future of psychoanalysis reflect exceptional promise."

Calling all leaders and those who are striving for leadership positions! This 6-week Advanced Leadership Seminar is open for registration.

We will explore critical concepts in systems psychodynamics and field theory, including the social unconscious, projective identification, splitting, social defenses, complex identities, and intersubjective processes. Widening our conceptual lens so that we can think of the individual, group, organization, and the environmental surroundings as co-creating the field and influencing and shaping each other, we will use these concepts to deepen our understanding of the unconscious uses and abuses of power across the constructive and destructive spectrum

CAI Conversations are topic-specific roundtable discussions that bring psychoanalytic sensibilities into dialogue with experts from the psychoanalytic community and across disciplines.

Moderated by CAI Chairs Amy Levy, Psy.D. and Todd Essig, each conversation puts psychoanalytic thinking to work on a pressing question at the intersections of AI and the human mind. They demonstrate what it sounds like when psychoanalysis joins the cultural chorus working to build a humanizing AI future.
