Digital Girl, Inc.

We are flashing back to this summer, when Digital Girl, Inc. students gained hands-on experience with fiber-optic cable and smartphone repair through a partnership with LinkNYC and P I G G Y it With Piggy!

This immersive experience kicked off with welcoming remarks from Nicole Robinson-Etienne of LinkNYC and included a fireside chat and words from by NYC Chief Technology Officer, Lisa Gelobter of NYC Office of Technology & Innovation CTO Gelobter shared words of encouragement and an inside look at what a career in tech can really look like.

This partnership showed how technology infrastructure can create practical learning and career exposure for young people. Continued investment can bring these opportunities to more students.

Happy 10-year anniversary to LinkNYC! Keeping our city connected and helping to bridge the digital divide since 2016! We look forward to many more years of collaboration, and we’re grateful to our partners for helping make it possible!

On October 3rd, Digital Girl, Inc. proudly hosted the 2026 Hackathon Challenge at Long Island University Brooklyn, in partnership with Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke and Congressman Hakeem Jeffries for the Congressional App Challenge!

Middle and high school students spent the day coding, collaborating, and creating apps that tackle real community needs. 👏

🏆 Congratulations to our winning teams!

Sending so much love to WIADCA - New York Carnival for purveying another beautiful Labor Day experience! Starting with the breakfast where many elected officials attended including Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani Mamdani, Council Member Farah N. Louis Senator Roxanne J. Persaud Bronx BP Vanessa L. Gibson Senator Kevin Parker Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke to name a few as well; As well as other community based organizations and supporting corporations such as Con Edison-the icing on the cake was having Kes and Buju serving as Grand Marshals! It was hard to capture it all and I missed a few people and things but it was a beautiful thing to see all Caribbean nations come together.

It always feels divine to feel appreciated. Thanks to all of the above who continually support Digital Girl, Inc. to ensure that we can make a real impact in the community!

Looking forward to next year!! Now let’s work!

Looking good is an art, but making it work is a science! 🪞✨ Highlights from our Glow-Up Gadget Lab, where our creators wired LED circuits, programmed microcontrollers, and engineered custom smart mirrors from scratch. We are showing the next generation of girls that they belong in STEM—and that they don’t just follow tech trends, they code them! 💡💻⚡️

A huge shout out to NYC Her Future & DYC for sponsoring this workshop and making it all possible!!
