We are a Connecticut based non-profit organization focused on improving the lives of those affected by serious illnesses and hardship.

Hi my name is Ellen Mello and in May of 2013 I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. After the initial shock of my diagnosis, I immediately started experiencing an outpouring of support and truly remarkable acts of LOVE from people throughout my community. As soon as I completed my treatment, I knew I wanted to pass along the kindness I had experienced to OTHER cancer patients who are going through their own personal healing. When I came across The LOVE HEALS PROJECT (PROJETO AMOR CURA), I knew this was how I could help. LOVE HEALS PROJECT is about bringing love to cancer patients. We collect scarfs, wigs, jewelry, etc. and we package them beautifully to be handed out at Cancer centers around CT. We also distribute LOVE HEALS boxes to centers throughout Brazil and other countries.! This act of kindness might not heal somebody, but a simple act of love may give them the will to fight a little longer…or just brighten up their day!
