🌟 The ELP Class of 2026 recently had the opportunity to visit Caring for the Hungry and Homeless of Peekskill, Inc. (CHHOP) and learn firsthand about the impact of community-driven solutions to housing and food insecurity.

A special thank you to Cynthia B. Knox for her inspiring leadership, and to Candice Blyden Gill and Erika Ferbes for sharing their expertise and insights. CHOPP is driven by the understanding that every person is entitled to safe, affordable housing and healthy, nutritious food.

Participants also learned about the innovative partnership between CHHOP and Lifting Up Westchester (LUW)—a strategic collaboration that combines operational infrastructure so both organizations can focus more resources on delivering critical services. Alongside Cynthia Knox, Anahaita Kotval, NPW Board Member and CEO of LUW, shared how trust, shared vision, and collaboration are key to building successful partnerships that create lasting impact.

The new partnership is a powerful example of what can happen when organizations come together to better serve our communities. By aligning resources and expertise, they are creating stronger pathways to housing stability, food security, and improved well-being for residents across Westchester.

Thank you to NPW Board Member Jeanette Gisbert, MPA Gisbert, Deputy Director of Neighbors Link, and Luke Powell from Governor Hochul's office for joining us. And a special thank you to our program sponsor, M&T Bank, for supporting the next generation of leaders.
