Domestic Violence Awareness Month is here.

This month, we’re honored to share an incredibly powerful and personal story from our Managing Attorney, Bertha, who bravely opened up about her experience with abuse and injustice.

Her story is a reminder that domestic violence can happen to anyone, regardless of background, profession, or socioeconomic status. Behind the success we see in others, there may be struggles we know nothing about.

Bertha’s journey is one of resilience, healing, and finding light after incredibly difficult circumstances. By sharing her story, she hopes to encourage other professionals who may be struggling in silence and remind them that they are not alone, healing is possible, and there is light beyond the darkness.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we invite you to read her story, listen without judgment, and help create greater awareness around domestic violence.

A Successful Day of Free Health Services at CRC!

Last Friday, CRC was proud to welcome the Westchester Medical Center Mobile Medical Unit, in partnership with WMCHealth and Ally Care Center, to provide free health services to our community.

Around 20 community members benefited from free and confidential services, including HIV/Hep C rapid testing, STI testing, contraceptive options, and other important sexual health resources. No health insurance was required.

We are grateful to our partners for helping us make essential healthcare services more accessible to our community and to everyone who stopped by and used these resources.

At CRC, we remain committed to connecting our community with the services, information, and support they need to stay healthy and informed. 🧡

Yesterday, our community came together in a powerful show of unity and support for our immigrant neighbors.

Nearly 80–100 community members gathered at St. John’s Church in Larchmont for the United for Immigrant Justice Rally, standing together to support immigrant families and call for dignity, due process, and respect for our neighbors.

Community leaders, elected officials, faith leaders, CRC, CURE, Make the Road New York, and Indivisible Larchmont–Mamaroneck–New Rochelle led the rally in partnership.

Thank you to St. John’s Church for opening its doors and providing a space for our community to gather, and thank you to everyone who showed up, brought signs, raised their voices, and stood alongside our immigrant neighbors.

Yesterday was a reminder of the power of community: when our neighbors need us, we show up.

Families belong together. Our neighbors deserve dignity. And our community stands together.

🎓 Congratulations to our newest WE RISE Nanny Training graduates!

This past weekend, we celebrated the successful completion of the WE RISE Nanny Training program!

Offered in partnership with the Worker Institute at Cornell University and the National Domestic Workers Alliance, this program equips participants with valuable skills and knowledge to strengthen their work as professional caregivers.

Throughout the training, participants learned about children’s social-emotional health, nutrition, workplace rights, fair wages, and more. They also earned CPR certification, helping them provide safe, knowledgeable, and compassionate care for the children and families they serve.

We are incredibly proud of all our graduates and the commitment they showed throughout the program. Congratulations on this important achievement!

These kids can cook! 👩‍🍳🧑‍🍳💛

Through our partnership with the Rotary Club of Larchmont, young people at CRC are learning, creating, and building new skills through our Cooking to Grow classes.

More than just cooking, these classes give kids the opportunity to try new recipes, work together, build confidence, and have fun along the way!

This is just one example of the Rotary Club of Larchmont’s commitment to our community, and we are proud to recognize them as our Community Honoree at this year’s Annual Gala!

Today is an important reminder of the Constitution's principles: justice, due process, equality, and the protection of individual rights. These principles are more than words on a page. They promise that every person should be treated with dignity, and that this is a country where rights and legal protections matter.

Today, we reflect on that promise, on the work still before us, and on the importance of standing together as a community.

What a wonderful morning with our little ones!

Our early childhood music class with Dara was filled with singing, dancing, movement, laughter, and lots of fun! Through music and play, children have the opportunity to develop important skills while exploring and learning in an engaging environment.

Activities like these can support physical and motor development, coordination, language and cognitive skills, creativity, confidence, and social-emotional development.

We loved seeing our little ones participate, move to the music, and enjoy this special experience together.
