OMT is the place to be!

We’re excited to share a new opportunity to build connections between the Academy of Management’s AOM Organization & Management Theory Division (OMT) and the International Association for Chinese Management Research (IACMR).

IACMR will hold its 2027 Biennial Conference in Hong Kong, and members of the community are invited to submit work; in particular, our two organizations are collaborating on Professional Development Workshops (PDW) for the conference, so please feel free to submit those specifically.

This is part of a broader conversation between OMT and IACMR about building bridges across our scholarly communities - creating new opportunities to connect researchers, exchange ideas, and support organization and management research across contexts.

Another of our favorite events from this year’s Academy of Management Annual Meeting: the Doctoral Student Consortium! 🎓

Each year, the DSC brings together PhD students and senior scholars for a day of conversation about research, careers, and life in the OMT hashtag .
It’s an opportunity to introduce emerging scholars to the breadth of research that calls OMT home, provide some guidance as they navigate the PhD journey, and build across career stages that strengthen our community for years to come.

A huge thank you to the faculty who generously shared their time and experience, and to the doctoral students who brought their ideas, questions, and enthusiasm.

A wonderful start to with OMT Day at Drexel University's LeBow College of Business! 🎉

Before the formal Academy of Management program even began, members of the Organization & Management Theory (OMT) community gathered at Drexel LeBow for a full day of opportunities to connect, learn, and support one another—from OMT Meetups and Meet EGOS@OMT to our Mid-Career Faculty PDW and other community events.

A huge thank you to everyone who organized, mentored, participated, and helped make the day such a success—and to Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business for hosting us in Philadelphia!

One of our favorite things about the AOM Organization & Management Theory Division (OMT) community is how willing senior scholars are to invest their time in junior colleagues.

We just wrapped up our 9th round of Meetups, and the numbers are pretty remarkable: 86 senior scholars volunteered as mentors, 98 junior scholars signed up as mentees, and together they’ll participate in 184 one-on-one meetups.

For those unfamiliar with the initiative, OMT Meetups creates opportunities for junior scholars to connect individually with more senior members of the community: for advice, conversation, and simply the chance to get to know someone they might not otherwise have the opportunity to meet.

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time, and to Anupama Kondayya who led the initiative. It’s a wonderful example of the kind of academic hashtag we should keep building.
