Halloween has been part of Boys Town traditions since Father Flanagan’s earliest days at the Home. From homemade costumes and trick-or-treating to parties, bonfires and s’mores, the holiday created special memories for generations of youth. 🧡

Boys Town was honored to be part of the Saint Louis Chess Conference, joining conversations about the powerful role chess can play in supporting underserved youth and communities. Our chess club helps youth build critical thinking, resilience, emotional regulation and social skills that extend far beyond the chessboard.

What started as a mission to care for men became a lifelong commitment to helping children reach their full potential. Despite limited resources, public skepticism, and countless challenges, Venerable Father Flanagan's unwavering belief that "there is no such thing as a bad boy" never faltered.

More than 100 years later, that same belief still guides Boys Town. During , we honor the courage, compassion and vision of our incredible founder.
