We celebrate our 35th year in 2023. Our organization has a robust education program encompassing community classes for ages 5 and up, summer camp and intensives, a student company, outreach programming for at-risk youth, pre-

professional training for teens and adults, and a 9-month Professional Training Program. We have taught over 21,000 students the joy of dancing in the air. The Professional Performing Company has won many awards and accolades, including a resounding success at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Over 205,000 audience members have experienced the beauty and strength of our performances. Frequent Flyers® also created the first international Aerial Dance Festival, celebrating its 25th year in 2023. Our dedicated facility has two large studios with 23′ ceilings and more than 4,500 sq.ft. of training and rehearsal space. Frequent Flyers is considered the flagship aerial dance organization in the world. Frequent Flyers® mission is to create and promote the magic of aerial dance through performance and education. Our vision is to help all people to see the world from a new perspective through experiencing the upside-down realm of aerial dance. We believe this expanded consciousness helps everyone to maximize their creative potential, which in turn provides the fertile ground for these problem-solvers to address issues, create new opportunities and solve problems in our community and beyond. What are our students saying? "The teachers at FFP create, each class, an atmosphere that is incredibly positive and empowering for every student... they get to know each of us so they can help support, challenge, and inspire at a level that is appropriate so that I can feel successful each time I grow strong, fly higher and face any fears." - Yuen-Ying Carpenter (Adult Student)

"FFP is such a welcoming place. I feel like I can express myself through dance without being judged or criticized." "I really really want to come back!" - Katelyn Haid (Youth Student)

Screen Dance for Aerial Artists
3-4:30pm daily
In this dance film course with Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema, participants will learn the nuts and bolts of dance filmmaking. We will cover the craft of choreography for a camera instead of a stage, practical shooting techniques, and editing for embodied viewing. Participants will collaborate on the creation of a new short film in which they are choreographers, performers, directors, and editors, but no prior filmmaking experience is necessary.

Michelle Bernier received her MFA in Dance from CU Boulder with a dual focus in Somatics and Digital Media, and she serves as Executive Director and Artistic Co-Director of Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema. She has cultivated works in the fields of stage & site choreography, multimedia installation, and Screendance (also known as Dance for Camera or Dance Film). Bernier has presented lectures and workshops at Universidad de Campinas (SP, Brazil), Texas State University, California Institute of the Arts, and national conferences for National Dance Educators Organization’s National Conference and Dance Studies Association. Her films have been screened at American Dance Festival’s Movies by Movers (USA), Host Dance Film Festival (UK), NYBA Dance Film Festival (NYC & Argentina), Multiplié Dance Film (Norway), Screendance Festival (Sweden), Wicklow ScreenDance Lab (Ireland), and more. We are thrilled to announce our Aerial Dance Festival 2026 Glenn P. Davis Scholarship recipient: Finnian Helsten 🥳

Finnian Helsten (they/he) is a dancer and performer from Salt Lake City, UT. Raised on classical ballet and jazz technique, as well as contemporary and competitive dance– they have a deep appreciation for technicality and skill. Training in tumbling, gymnastics, and aerial arts on the side expanded their love for fun and play. Finnian’s college education in dance introduced new movement practices, leading to the discovery of their love for floorwork. With this versatility, they feel completely at home both flying through the air and rolling around on the ground.

Finnian is a creative soul, holding deep love for all aspects of performance and all that goes into putting on a show. They welcome any opportunity to explore the exciting world of creation and performance and they hope to continue to create works that shine a light on mental health and gender identity.

Aerial Dance Festival 2026 Faculty Artist Spotlight ✨
We are absolutely delighted to welcome Issac Endo back to ADF this year, bringing their creative brilliance to the Festival!

Week A (July 27-31)

AcroDanse
5:30-7pm daily
AcroDanse, or soft acrobatics, lies at the intersection of dance and gymnastics. Develop skills like rolls and flairs alongside qualities such as fluidity and elasticity, building strength, mobility, and body awareness along the way.

Week B (August 3-7)

ActLab Immersion
9am-12pm daily
ACTLAB is a creative laboratory for anyone seeking to develop a performance piece. Bring your concept, (music, theme, idea), and through guided experimentation and diverse creative practices, we’ll explore structure, musicality, and the balance between technical skill and artistic intent; taking your idea from the head and into the air. The lab culminates in a work-in-progress showcase in the last class!

Choreographic Games / Aleatoric Movement
5:30-7pm daily
Step into the world of aleatoric movement, where play becomes the foundation of choreography. Through structured games and collaborative exercises, we’ll explore composition in real time.

Issac Endo works with subjects, objects, and the space in-between. Grounded in embodied practice, their approach extends into design, fabrication, digital media, and critical theory. Originally an interprète, they graduated from the National Circus School as Metteur en Piste (dramaturge and director of circus). They have since worked collaboratively across disciplines and nations, always in pursuit of the same questions: what does it mean to be present, to be acted upon, and to act? And what can happen when you treat every medium — human or otherwise — as something worth elevating? This work does not happen to. It happens with.
