Too many girls miss critical school days every month simply because they lack access to basic period products and education. We’re on a mission to change that, one classroom at a time.

We are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting our sixth annual Une Nuit Pour Les Filles: A Benefit for PridePads Africa on Sunday, November 8th, 2026.

We have once again partnered with Rembrandt Yard, located in downtown Boulder, for an evening of delicious food from Boulder favorite, Three Leaf Catering, complimentary beverages, and an extensive silent auction.

This event will also launch our 2026 end-of-year campaign Flowing Towards Change, One Pad at a Time. Together, we can make periods a source of dignity, not a barrier to opportunity.

A newspaper can absorb the blood, but not the shame.

Schoolgirls all over Africa resort to unhygienic substitutes like newspapers, because they can’t afford period products, or menstrual supplies simply are not available in their village.

Our students in Cameroon have told us stories about using newspapers, rags and even leaves during their periods.

Our mission at PridePads Africa is to provide girls in Cameroon with both period supplies and menstrual education, and we applaud all the other organizations around the world who are in this fight with us.

Since 2019, we’ve shared a simple, powerful number with you: $24 per year to provide pads for one girl. That figure helped us tell the story of how far your generosity could go. But the world has changed. The costs of materials, shipping, import, and transport of pads to the communities we serve in Cameroon have risen significantly.

After a careful cost analysis and an in-depth discussion with our board and volunteers, we are updating our sponsorship amount to $34 per girl per year. This new figure reflects the full, real cost of getting pads from production to a girl’s hands, including a small buffer to keep our operations sustainable.

Our mission remains to ensure no one is held back because they menstruate. Updating the cost to reflect current global economic realities allows us to keep our promise to girls and communities without cutting back on quality or consistency.

If you are able, we invite you to renew your support so that one girl can receive a full year of pads, education, and the confidence to keep showing up for school and for herself. Every gift, at any level, helps us stand with girls and ensures that no one is held back because they menstruate.

Period poverty is more than a lack of menstrual products. It refers to the barriers many people face in accessing the products, education, and healthcare needed to manage menstruation safely and with dignity.

The effects of period poverty can impact education, health, confidence, and opportunity. No girl should have to miss school, feel ashamed, or struggle to manage their period.

At Pride Pads Africa, we’re committed to helping break down these barriers through menstrual health education and access to menstrual products.

Today is Menstrual Hygiene Day, a global awareness campaign observed on May 28th to highlight the importance of menstrual hygiene and fight period stigma worldwide.

The date is deeply symbolic to the menstrual cycle: May is the 5th month of the year (representing the average 5 days of a period), and 28 reflects the average number of days in a menstrual cycle.

Women typically menstruate for about 40 years of their lives. Imagine having to spend four decades, facing every month with worry because you don’t have access to menstrual pads. This is the struggle facing women and girls in Cameroon.

 is a nonprofit that fights period poverty in Cameroon by distributing biodegradable menstrual pads and providing vital menstrual health education at numerous schools in our region. Our mission ensures that menstruation does not prevent girls from attending school or achieving their full potential.

In 2025, our PridePads team met with more than 7,500 local students and community members. During each of these visits, every participant received free PridePads. In 2026 we are on track to reach even more students than last year!

We fight hard to break the stigma and taboos surrounding menstruation, we talk frankly about periods to both boys and girls in the classrooms that we visit.

Menstrual health is not just a women's issue—it is about human rights, dignity, and equality. Every person deserves access to safe menstrual care, accurate information, and an environment free from shame.
