Last month, we were honored to receive the Museum of Boulder’s 2026 Community Impact Award at ENCORE!, the museum’s annual fundraising gala. The evening celebrated Boulder’s rich musical history while recognizing community leaders who help make Boulder County a vibrant place to live, work, and create. We’re grateful to the Museum of Boulder for this recognition and, most of all, for its ongoing work to preserve and share the stories of our community.

Looking back on a great day for Pledge 1% Colorado at this year’s Colorado Startup Week.

As a program of Community Foundation Boulder County, Pledge 1% Colorado works to connect Colorado’s entrepreneurial community with philanthropy and encourage founders and investors to build giving into their companies and funds from the start.

During the week, CFBC’s Amelia Pane Schaffner moderated “The Giving Advantage: Building Companies That Scale With Giving Built In,” featuring Pledge 1% co-founders Seth Levine and Ryan Martens, along with Jan D’Alessandro, Chief Legal & Philanthropy Officer at Pledge 1%. The conversation explored how giving can be built into companies from the start and highlighted Colorado’s “Give First” culture. We also announced 150 Founders for 150 Colorado, inviting 150 founders and investors to commit 1% of equity, future profits or fund carry to Colorado communities.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and to all of the entrepreneurs, businesses and community partners helping build a stronger culture of giving across Colorado.

Former Boulder County Commissioner and current CFBC Board Chair Deb Gardner is in Washington, D.C., as the Supreme Court hears Boulder’s climate case. As one of the county commissioners who voted in 2018 to launch the case against Suncor, Deb wants to see the work through.

“I was part of it from the beginning and really want to carry it on and represent the people of Boulder County, which is what we've been doing all along. This is what the people wanted us to do.” – Deb in an interview with CPR

The high court will not issue an opinion on the contentious case for several months
