Formed in 2016, the Eckhart Tolle Foundation focuses primarily on awakening human consciousness, as well as alleviating – and ultimately ending – the suffering created by the dysfunction of the egoic human mind. We accomplish this through making Eckhart Tolle’s teachings available to communities in need, and by funding and collaborating with like-minded organizations, especially those who work wit

Earlier this year, we donated copies of Eckhart’s books to the Correctional Service Canada staff in. These books quickly spread across the organization, reaching Regional Wellness Teams, Employee Assistance Programs, and Critical Incident Stress Management units across British Columbia.

The staff who received these books work every day alongside some of the most complex and vulnerable people in our society. To hear that Eckhart’s teachings have been not only personally meaningful to them, but directly applicable to their work, is exactly why we do what we do.

We are so grateful to Barb Van Gugt for sharing this with us, and to every staff member who took these teachings to heart.

We’re proud to celebrate our grantee Peace in Schools, whose work is bringing presence-based teachings into schools and communities.

This school year, Peace in Schools reached 1,443 students and educators across 12 schools and multiple youth-serving organizations. Their programs offer tools for compassion, presence, and inner stillness to young people who need them most.

We are honored to support organizations like Peace in Schools whose work aligns so deeply with our mission of accelerating the awakening of human consciousness.

As we celebrate the Foundation’s 10th anniversary this year, we’re reflecting on the momentum we’ve built together, one present moment at a time.

Thanks to the support of our Foundation community, the first half of 2026 has deepened connection to Eckhart’s teachings across the globe. Young adults are finding stillness through the New Earth Youth Initiative, hospice patients and families are meeting life’s final chapter with more peace, and thousands of incarcerated learners are discovering inner freedom.

When an incarcerated individual transferred to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department in Tennessee, they had a deep appreciation for Eckhart’s teachings and a desire to share them with others.

That word spread to Erica Herrell, Programs Coordinator at the department, who reached out to the Foundation to request books for inmates. Today, those books line the shelves of their programs building, where groups of incarcerated learners gather to read and discuss each chapter together.

We’re moved by the way Eckhart’s teachings continue to reach those who would otherwise not have access.

We’re grateful to share this update from Stephanie Romero, Executive Director of Awaken Pittsburgh, one of our grantees dedicated to fostering well-being, empathy, and compassion through presence-based meditation and mindfulness programs.

Stephanie and her team have been sharing Eckhart’s books with their community groups and trainees across the region, most recently distributing copies of The Power of Now Journal to a group of trainees in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.

We love seeing Eckhart’s teachings carried into new communities through our partners. Thank you, Awaken Pittsburgh for all the amazing work you do.
