Today we remember Dolly Parton, whose life was defined not only by music and storytelling, but by an enduring commitment to helping children discover the joy of books.
In 1995, Dolly founded the Imagination Library through The Dollywood Foundation, beginning with a simple but powerful idea: give children access to high-quality books, regardless of their family’s income. To date, the program has gifted over 300 million books worldwide.
For those of us who believe in the transformative power of libraries, Dolly’s legacy is especially meaningful. She understood that a book can open a door to imagination, opportunity, empathy, and a lifelong love of learning. Thank you, Dolly, for helping generations of children dream bigger. ❤️📚
