Medical geneticists are trained to evaluate, diagnose, manage, treat, and counsel patients with hereditary disorders. Meeting with a medical geneticist is an important step in understanding and managing a rare chromosome disorder.

Genetic counselors spend a lot of time with families offering guidance and helping to assess the risk of children having hereditary disorders. Chromosome Disorder diagnoses can be difficult to understand. Particularly with rare chromosome disorders, there is a shortage of information and this can make diagnoses overwhelming for families. We at CDO help support families through our chromosome brochures. Members of CDO are eligible to receive personalized information packets based on their genetic analysis reports. The information is all selected and approved by our consulting geneticist.
