The Aquatennial Ambassador Organization Inspires Young Woman to Achieve Extraordinary Futures.

The Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization (AAO) is a Minnesota nonprofit and a Section 501(c)(3) public charity. The AAO focuses its efforts in three areas: Community, Leadership, and Volunteerism. Throughout each year Aquatennial ambassadors visit dozens of communities and festivals throughout Minnesota and across North America to build strong relationships and promote the Aquatennial festival and Minneapolis. Additionally, the ambassadors also volunteer time in service for other deserving organizations. AAO provides a candidate program for Minnesota-based community festival ambassadors to enhance their professional development and leadership skills. At the end of the candidate program, three ambassadors are selected from the group of candidates to continue on and represent the AAO for one year. The AAO generously provides the educational scholarships each year for the Aquatennial Queen of the Lakes and Princesses after the completion of their year of service.

📍Anoka, Mn

Our crew made their way back to Anoka for their annual parade and coronation! The day kicked off with the Anoka Grand Day Parade, where our team enjoyed seeing the creative costumes, visiting with familiar faces, and connecting with everyone along the parade route. Before the festivities, they enjoyed a delicious breakfast and presented their driver, Tony Lund, with a Commodores Medal in appreciation of his time and dedication. Our crew extends a special thank-you to Kevin DeRung and all the volunteers who helped make the day such a success! During coronation, an Honorary Commodores Award was given to Devah Gohl in recognition of her work and contributions within the community. A Queen’s Invitation was also given to Sadie Griffith, and we look forward to welcoming her to the Best Days of Summer! Congratulations to Anoka’s outgoing royalty on a wonderful year of service, and thank you to Anoka for another memorable day!

🎃 Anoka Hallowevening Ball

Our crew headed to Anoka for a spooktacular evening at the Hallowevening Ball! They had a wonderful time connecting with Anoka’s candidates, catching up with familiar faces, enjoying a delicious meal, and learning more about each candidate. Of course, the dance was the highlight of the night! Our crew loved spending the evening dancing, chatting, and making memories in such great company. Thank you, Anoka, for a wonderful evening! Our crew can’t wait to be back soon!

⚓ Sydney’s Hometown Celebration!

Our crew headed to Anoka to celebrate Sydney’s hometown after being selected as an Aquatennial Princess! She felt so loved being surrounded by her family, friends, and community. Sydney is incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this celebration so special and one to remember. Thank you, Anoka, for hosting Sydney and her crew with a memorable night!

🥨 Oktoberfest, Day 3

Day three wrapped up an incredible Oktoberfest weekend! Our crew started the day at the annual Maple Leaf Parade, where they loved experiencing just how big the Oktoberfest celebration truly is. During the parade, our team gave their driver, Evey Olson, a Commodores Medal in appreciation for taking the time to drive our crew. Special shoutout to Tammy McCanna for helping our team organize vehicles for the parade! After the parade, our team enjoyed a VIP lunch before heading back to the fairgrounds for more celebrating, connecting, and taking in the Oktoberfest festivities. To end the weekend, our crew enjoyed a special dinner cruise, spending the evening visiting with fellow dignitaries while taking in the beautiful views. Our team sends a huge thank you to Oktoberfest for an unforgettable weekend!

🥨 Oktoberfest, Day 2

Day two brought another wonderful day of exploring and celebrating! Our crew enjoyed exploring the fairgrounds, witnessing the Tapping of the Golden Keg, and taking in all the Oktoberfest festivities. In the evening, they gathered at the Freight House for another delicious dinner and a fun gift exchange. It was a wonderful day of learning about Oktoberfest traditions, meeting the new Oktoberfest family, and making lasting connections. Of course, there was plenty of delicious food, music, and polka dancing to round out the day!

🥨 Oktoberfest, Day 1

Our 2027 Aquatennial Family made their way to La Crosse, Wisconsin, for Oktoberfest and their very first trip of the year! The team enjoyed a beautiful historic Cass Street walking tour, followed by some mustard taste-testing at Houghton’s Jackson Pub. They then headed to a delicious welcome dinner, where they had the opportunity to meet new people and make new connections. The evening ended with the wonderful Torchlight Parade and Afterglow at Loggers Field. What a fantastic first day for our team! It was a great day for new memories, friendships, and connections to come throughout the year.

Our team traveled to New Ulm for their annual coronation! They loved learning some German dances, making new memories, and seeing so many familiar faces. During the coronation, an Honorary Commodores Award was given to Adam T. for his dedication and service to the community. An Aquatennial Candidate Invitation was also extended to Evie Mages, and we look forward to welcoming her to the Best Days of Summer! Our crew congratulates the outgoing royalty on a wonderful year and thanks New Ulm for a fantastic evening!

Our team headed to Northfield for their annual parade and coronation! They had a wonderful time visiting with royalty and enjoying the Defeat of Jesse James reenactment. Before the parade, Commodores Medals were given to their drivers, Dawn, Dan, and Mike, in recognition of their excellent driving that day. During the coronation, an Honorary Commodores Award was given to Tim Freeland for his dedication and contributions to the community. An Aquatennial Candidate Invitation was also given to Eila Craig, and we look forward to welcoming her to the Best Days of Summer! Our team congratulates the outgoing royalty on a fantastic year and thanks Northfield for a wonderful day filled with great weather, community, and celebration!
