Aquatennial Ambassador Organization The Aquatennial Ambassador Organization Inspires Young Woman to Achieve Extraordinary Futures.

The Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization (AAO) is a Minnesota nonprofit and a Section 501(c)(3) public charity. The AAO focuses its efforts in three areas: Community, Leadership, and Volunteerism. Throughout each year Aquatennial ambassadors visit dozens of communities and festivals throughout Minnesota and across North America to build strong relationships and promote the Aquatennial f

estival and Minneapolis. Additionally, the ambassadors also volunteer time in service for other deserving organizations. AAO provides a candidate program for Minnesota-based community festival ambassadors to enhance their professional development and leadership skills. At the end of the candidate program, three ambassadors are selected from the group of candidates to continue on and represent the AAO for one year. The AAO generously provides the educational scholarships each year for the Aquatennial Queen of the Lakes and Princesses after the completion of their year of service.

📍Princeton, Mn

Our crew headed to Princeton, Minnesota, for their annual parade and coronation. They enjoyed a beautiful parade and learning more about the community’s festival, Rum River Days. During the parade, our team had a great time visiting with the parade drivers and loved being gifted captain-themed ducks to carry along the route, a fun nod to Princeton’s duck-themed festival tradition! During coronation, an Honorary Commodores Award was given to Art Skaroheld for his contributions to the community. A Queen’s Charm was also given to Kelsy Siercks, and we look forward to seeing her at Best Days of Summer! Our team would like to congratulate the outgoing royalty on a wonderful year and thank the Princeton for its warm hospitality.

Congratulations to the new Royalty!

⚓️ A Day Exploring Minneapolis! 🏙️

🥧 Started the morning with the most delicious cinnamon rolls from Isles Bun & Coffee.

🎶 Browsed through Electric Fetus, home to an incredible collection of records and CDs from all your favorite artists.

🦞 Enjoyed amazing lobster rolls with our team at The 1029 Bar.

🍨 Recharged with a delicious affogato from Aster’s a perfect afternoon pick-me-up.

✏️ Stopped by the iconic Lake of the Isles Pencil, a 20-foot-tall pencil sculpture created by artist Curtis Ingvoldstad. Each year it’s sharpened during a community celebration. Catch this year’s event on June 6 from 1–2:30 PM!

🌊 Visited the breathtaking Minnehaha Falls, a 53-foot waterfall that beautifully captures the spirit of the City of Lakes.

🏡 Ended the day at the Minneapolis Rises Inauguration Event, where the Minneapolis–Saint Paul community was honored with the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for its dedication to neighbors and resilience during Operation Metro Surge.

☀️Morristown Dam Days Parade

Our team had an incredible time at the Morristown Dam Days Parade! They loved seeing the community come together and line the streets to celebrate this special tradition. One of the highlights was getting to meet and spend time with their wonderful parade drivers, Chip and Dee Beadell, whose kindness and hospitality made the day even more memorable. Our crew recognized them with Commodore Medals for their dedication and generosity. Experiences like this remind our crew how special small-town communities are, and our team is already looking forward to returning for many years to come!

⚓️Doors Open Downtown Minneapolis Tour

Our crew attended the Doors Open Downtown Minneapolis Tour, where they had the opportunity to learn more about the rich history of the city of Minneapolis. One fun fact they discovered was that the Minneapolis City Hall building is made up of 72,000 pieces of stained glass!

The team truly enjoyed hearing the stories behind the city’s history and taking part in such an in-depth tour experience. During the event, they also had the chance to connect with and visit with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, which was an exciting highlight for the crew. He was excited to hear about this year’s plans for the Best Days of Summer by our team!

Our crew was grateful for this incredible opportunity and hopes to remind others that sometimes a simple “yes” can lead to amazing experiences and meaningful connections!

💐Sholom Nursing Home

Our crew recently visited Sholom Nursing Home, where they had the opportunity to connect with residents and hear wonderful stories about Aquatennial celebrations from years past. During the visit, an Honorary Commodores Award was presented to Dolly, a former therapy dog, and her owner Malkie in recognition of their special relationship with Sholom Nursing Home.
