๐ Happy September from Change is Simple!
โข
Our team is getting excited to ramp up in preparation for the new school year ๐๏ธ! In the meantime, we wanted to share this exciting opportunity that Change is Simple was able to bring to three of our public school districts thanks to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency(EPA)!
โข
Earlier this summer (June 2026), Change is Simple donated $25,000 worth of books, in English and Spanish, to 19 schools across 3 school districts (Revere, Salem, and Woburn) that would create a section of climate literature each school's library.
As they dropped off the books ๐, representatives from Change is Simple spoke to some students about human impacts on the environment and the relation of extreme weather ๐ช๏ธ, greenhouse gasses like carbon, rising temperatures ๐ก๏ธ, and natural disasters to climate change. Students at Salem's Bentley Academy even constructed their own wind turbines ๐ฌ๏ธ and discussed renewable energy solutions ๐ as well as non-renewable energy and how everyday people can mitigate these impacts.
โข
Climate Libraries have been made possible with special thanks to the EPA; Salem Education Foundation; the PTOโs of Malcolm White Elementary, Horace Mann Laboratory School, and the Revere Public Schools; the school librarians; and Beantown Books. This valuable partnership could not have been completed without their help, and we trust that these books, selected with great thought and care, will be thoroughly enjoyed and learned from by our students for many years to come ๐.
