Grant Wood Family…. honestly we don’t even have the words for how incredible our very first Trunk or Treat was. We set a goal of 10 cars… and ended up with 26 amazing trunks and what we estimate to be over 400 kiddos coming out to celebrate! 🎃👻
But, what made tonight so special wasn’t just the turnout. It was the creativity, the smiles, the laughter, and seeing our school community come together in such a meaningful way. It was watching people show up for our kids, create memories, and make something new feel like a tradition from the very beginning. Our hearts could burst. 🥹
A HUGE thank-you to everyone who hosted a trunk, donated candy and supplies, volunteered their time, and helped spread the word. Thank you to Principal Graap (Grant Wood Elementary School) for suggesting this idea and helping us bring it to life, and to Rachael Stemler, our co-chair for dreaming, planning, and working alongside us to make it happen. This event would not have been what it was without all of you!
This is what community looks like. This is what happens when people come together for our kids. And the fact that we’re already hearing ideas for next year makes us SO excited for what’s ahead! 🎃✨
If our very first year was any indication, we have something really special growing here at Grant Wood. 💛🖤
Thank you for showing up, showing out, and making our first Trunk or Treat one to remember. Until next year, Little Dogs! 🐾
