10 days. A whole lot of good. ❤💛💙

The countdown to United Way’s Day of Caring is officially on!

In just 10 days, neighbors will show up with willing hands, big hearts, and maybe a little dirt under their fingernails. 😉 Together, we’ll help local organizations tackle projects that make a real difference- creating stronger spaces, brighter days, and more opportunities for the people who call the Quad Cities home.

And the best part? YOU get to be there.

10 days until Day of Caring. Let’s show up, pitch in, and make some good news happen!

What happens when we come together with a shared purpose? 💙

Day of Caring is a powerful reminder that meaningful change starts with people willing to show up, lend a hand, and invest in the community they call home.

When volunteers, local organizations, and neighbors come together, we create more than a day of service. We build connections, strengthen our community, and inspire the kind of growth that lasts long after the projects are complete.

Together, we can turn caring into action, and action into change.

Because when we come together, our community grows stronger.

We’re celebrating the organizations already registered to make a difference at Day of Caring! 💙 That’s over 40 teams saying yes to showing up, pitching in, and making our community stronger. But we’re not done yet. 👀

185 volunteer spots are still waiting to be filled. Don’t miss your chance to roll up your sleeves, connect with your community, and experience what happens when we come together for something bigger than ourselves.

Every child deserves to start the school year feeling celebrated, supported, and ready to learn. ❤️📚

The first day of school is a big moment, and for Madison Elementary School - Davenport, IA students, it came with a little extra excitement thanks to a special red carpet welcome! From high-fives to smiles, community members gathered to cheer students on as they began a new school year. 👏🏼

At United Way Quad Cities, we know that early school successes can set the stage for future success. Supporting children as they build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and develop a love of learning is an important part of our work to help every child reach their potential.

We’re proud to celebrate our youngest learners and the teachers, families, and community members who help them start strong. Because when children succeed in school, our entire community is stronger. 💪

What makes you show up for your community? 💙

For us, it’s the belief that when we come together, we can create a stronger Quad Cities for everyone.

Day of Caring brings that belief to life. It’s neighbors helping neighbors, volunteers sharing their time and talents, and local organizations receiving a helping hand when they need it most. Every project may look different, but the purpose is the same: to make a meaningful difference right here at home.

Because our community is stronger when we all have a reason to care- and when we turn that reason into action.

We are thrilled to celebrate our very own Ciara Llave, who is an honoree of the City of Moline Government's new "Caught Caring" initiative. The program aims to honor 30 people or organizations in the Moline community who give back and make a difference. ❤

Ciara was nominated by her United for Schools co-worker, Faith Martinez. In her nomination, Faith wrote:

"From the start, Ciara has given her all and gone above and beyond to support the students and staff at Washington [Elementary], whether that be giving students rides to school, creating, stocking, and running the school's food pantry and cares closet, or bringing in new community partners to help support families. Ciara is a perfect example of someone who cares for their community!"

We are so proud of you, Ciara! Join us in giving her a round of applause! 👏🏼

993 Quad Citians have committed to volunteering at this year's Day of Caring- will you join them? ❤💛💙
