🌟 Meet Our September Jobs for Michigan's Graduates (JMG) Specialist of the Month: Kristy Schaefer! 🌟

We're proud to recognize Kristy Schaefer, a JMG Specialist and Career Navigator with Michigan Works Region 7B, for her compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to helping young people recognize their potential and find their path forward.

Since joining JMG in 2024, Kristy has served students across three Alternative Education Academy campuses, building meaningful relationships and connecting young people with opportunities to gain confidence, develop skills, and prepare for their futures. Guided by her belief in being someone her students can count on, Kristy helps ensure young people know they have someone in their corner—both during their time in school and beyond.

Through her dedication to building lasting relationships and connecting students with meaningful career and work experiences, Kristy continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives and futures of the young people she serves.

We love seeing our JMG youth connect with community leaders and gain real-world insights! 💙

Thank you to Officers Pender and Horen for investing in our youth, sharing their experiences, and helping them explore careers in public service. 👏

A huge thank you to Lapeer City Police Officers Pender and Horen for taking the time to visit our Life Skills Class!

The officers shared valuable insights on interacting with law enforcement, career opportunities in public service, the importance of community service, and the power of taking pride in ourselves and the communities we call home. Their presence and real-world perspective made a strong impression on our participants and reinforced the life skills we work on every day.

We’re grateful for partners like the City of Lapeer Police Department who invest in our youth and help build stronger connections between young people and the community. Thank you for your service and for supporting our class!
