The Negro League broke barriers, and its roots run deep in Grand Rapids.

The Grand Rapids Black Sox were a Grand Rapids based Negro League team in the 1940s and 50s. The team saw its share of talent come through and helped change the game of baseball forever. On Wednesday, July 29th, we'll be honoring everything they did for the game and the city of Grand Rapids!

Project T is ready to be named - and you can help!

Should Project T Be Named Mercy Harbor or The Mercy District?

Project T wanted to pay tribute to what was previously home to Mercy Hospital. They want to recognize the service and dedication that Mercy Hospital provided to our community since it opened in the early 1900's and they would like your help in deciding between the two names by voting online.

How to Vote:

2. At the very top of the website's page there are two forms available. One for Mercy Harbor and the other one for The Mercy District. Fill out either of the two forms based on what name you would like to vote for.

3. There is also an opportunity to leave any comments you may have on each form.

This summer, the PEACE League returns to ‘The Blacktop’ at Benton Harbor High School, using mentorship and basketball to create safe spaces, build leaders, and save lives.
