Join us every Sunday at Bethel CRC for Grounded Roots! This is a safe space where our youth can grow in faith, wisdom, character, and community. Through biblical teaching and meaningful connection, we’re helping young people develop Christ-centered values that shape how they understand themselves, relate to others, and navigate the world around them.

Do you know a teen ready to discover the exciting world of glass? Come see what FIRED UP! is all about! Our Open House is a chance for teens and families to step inside the studios, meet our instructors, and experience firsthand what makes this program so unique.

Applications are now open! FIRED UP! is Water Street Glassworks’ tuition-free, after-school program for Benton Harbor and Berrien County teens. Students gain hands-on experience in glassblowing, beadmaking, and glass fusing while building creativity, confidence, teamwork, and entrepreneurial skills in a professional studio environment. No previous glass experience is needed, just an interest in learning, creating, and trying something new.

Come explore the studios, meet the people behind the program, ask questions, and discover what you can create with glass!

✨ Grounded Hangout Recap ✨

As our kids arrived and were signed in, we kicked things off with a painting activity, allowing everyone to settle in, express themselves, and ease into the day.🎨

From there, we gathered in prayer to set the tone for our time together before jumping into fun icebreakers and games.

Our activities today included:
✔️ Breathing Exercises
✔️ Sensory Bins
✔️ Puzzles

Each activity was curated for our youth to slow down, engage their senses, strengthen focus, and practice self-regulation.

We then talked about respect, listening when others are speaking, and using our words to build each other up.

We ended our time by talking about delayed gratification and practical ways we can care for our mental, physical, and spiritual well-being through intentional choices, even when the reward isn’t immediate.

After sharing a meal, we wrapped up with some outdoor play, laughter, and fellowship.

What an amazing time at the Community Resiliency Model (CRM®) Training led by the Corewell Health Center for Wellness team!💛

This experience gave us practical tools to better understand how stress and trauma can affect the mind and body, recognize the nervous system’s responses to stress, and use biologically based wellness skills aimed at helping reset and stabilize the nervous system. We’re grateful for opportunities like this that strengthen our knowledge and equip us to serve our youth, families, and community with even greater intention.

A special thank you to Mrs. Terri Albers from the Corewell Health Center for Wellness team for creating space for learning, growth, and community resilience. We’re excited to put these tools into practice!✨
