Our advocates are the reason a call at 3 a.m. is answered by a person rather than a recording.

They do it because they care, because somebody once did it for someone they love.

There is no threshold. A call to the Empowerment Center Hotline 269-925-9500 can be a question. It can be “I don't know what this is.” It can be about someone else.

An advocate will not tell you what to do. They will listen, share information and options, and then it is yours to decide.

Here is the harder one: Caring Connection's Empowerment Center answers our 24/7/365 Hotline (269-925-9500) on October 16th, and on January 3rd, and at two in the morning on a holiday.

That is the part that needs funding, volunteers, and a community that stays interested after Domestic Violence Awareness Month ends.
