❤️ This Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week, we're recognizing the dedicated Vet Techs who play an essential role in the health and well-being of animals every day.

At HSCO, our Vet Techs are true stars. Their expertise extends far beyond animal handling, patient care, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical support. They are skilled caregivers, effective communicators, and steady advocates for animals experiencing fear, illness, stress, or injury.

From caring for vulnerable animals and assisting with life-saving procedures to working alongside staff and volunteers, our Vet Techs bring professionalism, expertise, and dedication to everything they do.

Much of their work happens behind the scenes at the HSCO Shelter and in our Veterinarian Outreach clinics, but their contributions help improve outcomes for animals throughout the community.

This week, we proudly thank our incredible Vet Tech team for their skill, compassion, and commitment to animal welfare. Please join us in giving them a well-deserved round of applause for the important work they do every day. 👏🐶🐱

We love this community, and we are heartbroken by today's tragedy. It shouldn't be this way.

Our hearts are with the families grieving unimaginable loss, the children and educators, and everyone affected by today's violence.

Tonight, we hold our Bend neighbors a little closer.

Take steps towards healing. We have a few spots left in our upcoming Pet Bereavement Support Group that starts on Saturday, October 17. Register today.

Losing a beloved pet can be a profound and often misunderstood loss. This support group provides a safe, compassionate space for participants to share their experiences, process their grief, and connect with others who understand the unique bond between people and their pets.

Details:
6-Week Session
Oct. 17 through Nov. 21, 2026
Saturdays, 10 to 11:30 a.m
HSCO Shelter, 61170 SE 27th St, Bend

To support trust, continuity, and meaningful connections among participants, HSCO asks registrants to plan on attending all six sessions.

Registration is required, and space is limited to eight participants. Interested individuals should complete HSCO's online registration form at https://www.hsco.org/whats-happening/pet-bereavement

To help ensure participants are ready for a group support setting, HSCO asks that at least one month has passed since the loss of their pet before joining the group.

If you know someone who could benefit, please share this post.
