Nourishing the Body & Soul

Don’t miss this new pop-up art show, born from a partnership between Family Kitchen, FREAK’N ART, and Open Space Event Studios, in association with the Bend Central District Block Party. Local artists submitted work under the theme “Nourish” and will be donating a portion of each piece’s sale price back to Family Kitchen’s free meal program.

The event will be open to the public on June 27th as part of the Block Party, but purchasing tickets to the private showing and auction the evening before is highly encouraged for art enthusiasts. Those who join will be treated to drink vouchers and catered bites from Bleu Bite Catering, and will be entered into a raffle that includes prizes from Brasada Ranch and Wanderlust Tours. They will also have first access to the art auction, including “Buy It Now” options for each piece.

Take advantage of all of the perks included in a NOURISH ticket: first access to the art sale, a copy of the art catalog, drink tickets, catered bites by Bleu Bite Catering, and entrance to the raffle that includes either a two-night stay at Brasada or a tour with Wanderlust Tours! NOURISH, Family Kitchen’s art gallery pop-up benefit, is quickly approaching. Join us at Open Space Studios on Friday, June 26th to enjoy local art, tasty bites, and contribute to a great cause!

We highly recommend purchasing tickets for either the VIP Preview Hour or the Private Preview on the 26th to get first access to the amazing art we’ll be showcasing. 18 local artists have pieces available for purchase, with proceeds going to our free community meal program! Starting on Saturday, the artwork will become available for purchase by the public. Don’t miss your chance to own an amazing piece of original art.

Our new “Circle of Nourishment” reflects a spirit of diversity and inclusion; welcoming people from all walks of life, from unhoused neighbors to the broader community. At its heart, it evokes the idea of gathering around a table, sharing food, connection, and a sense of belonging. You’ll see this symbol, as well as its individual elements, across our campaigns in the coming years.

The true “heart-beet” of Family Kitchen is its people - the volunteers who show up, the donors who give generously, and the families and patrons who gather, share, and sustain its spirit. Together, they transform simple ingredients into something greater: a place of belonging, care, and connection that’s felt in every meal served. We are honored to foster these relationships and experiences in Central Oregon.

A new era has arrived for Family Kitchen!

To celebrate our 40th “birthday”, we’re thrilled to share the visuals of our rebrand with you!

This week, we’ll be unveiling a beautiful new suite of designs, a birthday present from the local branch of the digital agency People People Studio.

This update is rooted in connection, care, and good food, with the “heart-beet” icon being the center of our refreshed identity. The new color palette is rich, nutritious, and appetizing, evoking fresh, wholesome ingredients, while the red serves as a nod to our organization’s history, connecting where we’ve been with where we’re going.

We look forward to the next 40 years of service in our community. Stay tuned for more updates!
