The Central Oregon Trail Alliance is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer organization that works in conjunction with the U.S.Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and other land managers to design, construct and maintain trails in Central Oregon.

If you need fresh air and some community around you right now, we hope you can get out for a walk, hike, or ride and take a deep breath. You're also welcome to come dig with us. Trail work is slow, simple, shared work, and everyone is welcome. Tools, gloves, and good company provided.

There’s something steadying about moving dirt alongside other people, and our crews would love to have you.

Fall trail season is in full swing! 🍂

We've got plenty happening over the next few weeks, from building new singletrack in Sisters and Crook County to our Bend chapter meeting and soon-to-be-announced party at Worthy Brewing.

Whether you're ready to get your hands dirty or just want to connect with your local trail community, we'd love to see you!

October is looking GOOD. 🍂🚲🛠️

We’ve got plenty of ways to get involved this month--from helping build brand-new trail in Sisters, to learning some new trail-work skills, to hanging out with the Bend Chapter at the Bunker.

And save the date for November 1… we’ve got something fun brewing at Worthy! 🍻

What a gorgeous Saturday full of Trail Love! 💛

Huge thanks to everyone who came out, got their hands dirty, and spent the day giving some love back to the trails we all get so much from.

Anyone remember that almost 180-degree hairpin turn on Sector 16? Well, thanks to a few determined volunteers, this section now operates more within the laws of human-on-bicycle physics! 🥳🙌

A few other highlights:
~installing over a dozen drains
~clearing MILES of brush, sand, and improving sightlines
~pulling a rusty bicycle out of a brush pile (lawn ornament anyone? 😆)

Mostly, though, it was one of those really good days: people showing up, getting dirty, solving problems together, and giving a little love back to the places we ride.

Huge thanks to everyone who came out! We’re pretty lucky to have this community.

And a big thank you to Jeremy for capturing the day so beautifully!! 📸

THIS SATURDAY! 🛠️🌲

Come spend Public Lands Day giving a little love back to the trails!

We’re heading out to the Swampy Lakes area this Saturday for our fall Trail Love, and we’d love to have you join us. Grab a riding buddy, a friend, or just bring yourself and come get your hands dirty!

We’ll have a mix of projects for all skill levels, with a focus on brushing, drainage, and tread repair.

Central Oregon Trail Alliance is growing, and we’re looking for another exceptional person to join our team.

We’re hiring a Membership Program Officer — a full-time role that will lead and grow our membership program. It’s a unique chance to combine fundraising, community building, marketing, and relationship management in service of something tangible: the trails we all love.

Working closely with our Development Director, you’ll connect people to our mission through membership campaigns, donor stewardship, community partnerships, volunteer leadership, and data-driven fundraising. We’re looking for someone organized, collaborative, curious, and excited to bring people together around a shared passion for trails and outdoor recreation.

The details:
• Full-time, hybrid — based in Bend, OR
• Starting salary: $68,000–$72,000 + benefits
• Apply by: Sunday, July 19, 2026
• Start date: September 8, 2026
