Come watch a beehive inspection demonstration to learn more about honey bees and beekeeping! We’ll meet on the south side of our propagation greenhouse - look for a chalkboard to guide your way.

Lars Santana from the Central Oregon Beekeepers Association will open up one of the beehives here at Worthy and talk about how honey bees live, work and communicate. You’ll get an up-close look at hive life (if you want), but you’re also welcome to stand back and watch from a few feet away.

We’ll have some bee suits here for folks to use if they’d like, but you can bring your own or wear long sleeves and pants. Our honey bee hives have been quite gentle this year, but we still recommend some PPE for protection just in case. Tying back long hair and wearing a hat can be helpful.
