Nothing Great Was Ever Done Without Much Enduring. These past few months have felt heavy for many of us. When life presses hard, and tough situations close in, our hearts naturally want to run. But God has no scorn for such feelings - he made us, and he knows our frailties. He understands our impulse to flee from whatever difficulties we may face.

Yet He also calls us to endurance, because it produces spiritual growth different from everything else. And there is no way to learn endurance other than to simply endure. We can't learn endurance in principle or in theory; only life lessons, pain, and courage can teach us.

This month - let’s set the coffee aside and meet up to enjoy a beautiful nature walk along one of Beaverton's local walking paths. This will give us a chance to breathe, share our stories, and remember that we don’t have to endure alone. The fire smoke should be gone by then. I hope to see you there. 🩵

GSM is making an impact! Saturday the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a Community Expo of local businesses at the Farmer's Market in Beaverton. Center Director Bethany Black and multiple volunteers came out to run a booth for Good Samaritan Ministries to highlight our local work. The booth included the question, "What does being a neighbor look like to you?" with a place for responses from the community.

The volunteers handed out stickers with deep breathing instructions and engaged the community members in discussion about the positive effects of deep breathing on mental health, and invited locals to a pizza night at our office next week to learn more about us.

Overall, it was entirely a success, and we are thrilled with the team that put our booth together. We are making a huge impact in the local community!

Becoming Kingdom Teachers
We teach with our lives, our actions, our words, our mannerisms, and our attitudes. You don’t have to hold a microphone to be a teacher. Children learn by observing adults and mimicking their behaviors. We learn from our environment and from our personal experience of life.

Join us in a workshop where we will examine the ways Jesus taught, discover our personal role as a teacher, and learn how to be more effective as we engage the world around us. If you have already experienced Teacher Training at one of our GSM Centers, you will gain deeper understanding and experience through this intensive training.

This workshop is open to all. You will learn more about teaching in your role as a parent, as an employee or boss, as a group leader, or as a friend.
