BEAUMONT COMMUNITY — WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT 🚨

We are asking the Beaumont City Council to approve an ordinance restricting registered s*x offenders from living within 1,000 feet of schools, playgrounds, churches, daycare centers, parks, and other places frequented by children.

Many surrounding cities already have these protections in place. Beaumont should not become the only community without safeguards designed to help protect our children and families.

This petition is about public safety, accountability, and putting our community first.

So grateful for the opportunity our SANE nurses had to attend the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault conference! It was an incredible time of learning, networking, and growing alongside others who are passionate about supporting survivors. 💜

We also loved seeing other local resources, like Crisis Center of Southeast Texas, continuing to grow and strengthen services for our community. Working together makes a difference, and we’re thankful to be part of a community that cares so deeply for survivors and their families.

“Hi, I’m Madison Ramirez, BSN, RN, CA/CP SANE. I’m honored to serve as a SANE nurse at CAFS and as our Community Liaison. With a background in Labor & Delivery, I developed a passion for caring for patients during vulnerable moments.

Today, I’m grateful to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to survivors. I strongly believe education is our most powerful tool for prevention and am passionate about providing community education.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and being actively involved in my church.”

“I am a Registered Nurse with 12 years of experience and currently training as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). I am working toward my adult certification and plan to pursue pediatric certification to continue expanding my ability to care for patients of all ages. In 2025, I began working for Child Abuse & Forensic Services, where I provide compassionate, trauma-informed care and support survivors through the forensic exam process.

Being part of this work is incredibly meaningful to me, and I’m honored to support survivors during such critical moments.

Outside of this role, I also care for mothers and newborns as a labor and delivery nurse. When I’m not working, I enjoy cheering on my kids at their sporting events and spending quality time with my family. I’ve been married to my husband, Josh, for five years, and we share a blended family—two boys and a baby girl together.”

“I am a registered nurse with six years of experience, specializing in wound care and infection control. I am currently completing training to become a certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), a role I feel called to and am honored to pursue. I am privileged to be a part of CAFS and am deeply committed to supporting victims while contributing to the pursuit of justice through compassionate, thorough, trauma-informed care.

Outside of nursing, my faith and family are central to my life. I serve full-time at my church, supporting both the music department and youth ministry—two areas that bring me great joy. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my two-year-old redhead, who has my whole heart, as well as being outdoors, shopping, and traveling whenever I can.”

"I’m a SANE nurse certified in both adults and pediatrics, and I’ve been a registered nurse for 7 years. And recently obtained My BSN this Month. I started with Child Abuse and Forensic Services in 2022; I became a forensic nurse because I’m passionate about helping victims and being their voice when they need one most. I am so grateful to be part of this profession and the work I have the privilege to be a part of at CAFS.
I’ve been married to my husband Zane for 11 years, and we have three energetic boys. When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family, cooking/ baking, thrift shopping, going to many of my kids sports events and being outdoors with my kids.”

We would be nowhere without her. Her vision, strength, and dedication built the foundation of everything we do. We are so honored to be led by our fierce and passionate leader.

“Brenda is a dual certified SANE with over a three decades of experience conducting forensic medical examinations. She founded CAFS in 1996, establishing the first private facility in Texas dedicated to medical care for s*xual assault victims. Brenda has examined over 5,000 victims, testified in numerous court cases, and played a key role in passing legislation to secure funding for forensic exams. Recognized for her dedication, she has received multiple awards, including the IAFN, Edith Rust Medical Award and Child Advocate of the Year.”
