The Diocese of Beaumont is seeking Certified Lifeguards to work part-time at both sessions of the Catholic Diocesan Summer Camp (Christ Central Camp in Beaumont).

Session Dates are July 9-13 and July 16-20.

Qualified candidates must be at least 16 years of age, hold a current American Red Cross or Boy Scouts of America lifeguard certification, be familiar with maintaining pool and waterfront safety, be versed in using lifesaving equipment and knowledge of lifesaving skills, and have experience in pool safety and instruction. Applicants must have experience of working with young people and in an outdoor environment.

Scheduling for Certification Courses

Corporations: We will not have any contracts for the month of August. We will begin scheduling contracts for September - December. Call now to get on the schedule as we will only have certain dates available for the remainder of the year. American Heart Association certification courses (OSHA approved) are $65/person.

Youth: We will post our fall schedule in September. We will have limited CPR/FA Babysitting certification courses and (1) ARC Wilderness and Remote First Aid (16 hour course) for the remainder of this year. Prices for certification courses are $45/youth for CPR/FA, $65/youth for Babysitting Training and BLS, $165 for Wilderness and Remote First Aid.

Community: We will not have any community certification courses for the remainder of this year. If you need a course before 2023, we are referring everyone to MayDay CPR & First Aid Training . They are phenomenal and have multiple classes to meet your needs.

The remainder of this year, we will be focusing on our youth programs and we will be building our volunteer and certified instructor staff back up! Due to the rising cost of, well, everything 😫we have modestly increased the prices of our certification courses. We have been able to only increase it by $5 🙌

Effective August 1, 2022:
💲Youth certification courses will be $45 and $65 for BLS
💲Adult certification courses will be $65
💲School Heartsaver certification courses will be $15/student and $45/teachers and staff

🌳⛑️American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid Certification Course

We will be having a 2-Day Summer Camp for the Wilderness course. This course is approved in accordance with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts Doctrine guidelines and US Coast Guard OSHA's Best Practices!

Scout Groups: You can have this course also conducted at your troop location in Southeast Texas or Southwest Louisiana. Additional locations are able to schedule with travel expenses.

US Coast Guard: Contact our office to schedule a training at your location. Outside stations will be charged travel expenses.

The cost of the course is $165 and includes all program materials and certifications. This fee also includes an additional CPR/AED American Heart Association certification.

CAMP Interest: If you or your child is interested in attending this training for our 2-Day camp, please contact us or comment here so we can have an idea about how many courses to offer. Camp courses will be scheduled on week days (Monday through Thursday) and will be held at our office location in China, TX.

🌳Wilderness and Remote First Aid Course🌳
Designed for scouts and scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments, this course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. Based on the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, this course aligns with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs.

Prerequisites: Must be at least 14 years old and hold current adult CPR/AED certification.
2 year certification

Digital certificate available upon successful completion of course

Course length: 16 hours

❤️Volunteer:
We need you! Volunteer to teach disaster preparedness classes, informative water safety or Babysitter Training classes! Knowledge experience is recommended but not required as you will go through training in American Red Cross curriculum for the program(s) you will want to teach! Programs are held at schools, day schools, libraries, community centers, churches, Girl and Boy Scout groups and other youth organizations in Southeast Texas communities to the youth (18 years old and under). If interested, please complete the following form. Volunteers will be approved based on your volunteer application, pass a federal background check and have reliable transportation.

❤️American Heart Association Certified Instructors Needed! Are you a certified instructor? We need you to teach our corporate first aid/CPR/AED classes! Must have a minimum American Heart Association Heartsaver Instructor certification. Pay is $100/class (average class is 3-4 hours) with a $20 travel pay (more if the class is further than 30 miles from our office location in China, TX). You must have your own transportation to and from our office to complete paperwork and pick up, drop off supplies. More details to be discussed during interview.
