We are so excited to introduce a new summer program for students who are finishing up grades 6-8! Fill out our interest form at link in bio or visit https://forms.gle/5ygFcHyYdhWyBVrt6
Cardboard Dreams is a one-week multimedia workshop run by Compass Arts during the week of July 13th-17th from 10am-2pm. It’s all about how cities like Beacon are planned and designed. In this program, you’ll think like a designer, city planner, and architect, with chances to learn about these disciplines during walks around town and conversations with local leaders, business owners, and community members. Then, campers will work together to design a reimagined Beacon and build it from upcycled materials. The camp week ends with a family share on the evening of Friday, July 17th and community share and exhibit on Saturday, July 18th, 1-5pm, where students present their city model and their ideas to their friends and the wider Beacon community. Payment is by sliding scale with free and partial donation options.
