Thank you to all the volunteers who helped to deconstruct this house in Georgetown! Becusse of all of this work, we were able to save a lot of material from getting demolished or being brought to the dump and sitting in a landfill.

You will now see windows, doors, cabinets and more all at the ReStore soon! Make sure to stop by and see all the new items we get on a daily basis!

🎉 Did you know? This year, Habitat for Humanity is celebrating 50 years, while Habitat 7 Rivers Maine is celebrating 35 years of building homes, communities, and hope right here in Midcoast Maine!

To celebrate, we’re taking a quick trip down memory lane. 🏠💙

Throwing it back to one of our Habitat home builds, when we had a pretty special guest lend a hand: Senator Angus S. King, Jr.

For 35 years, volunteers, homeowners, community partners, and friends have helped make our work possible. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited about what we’ll build together next.

Here’s to 35 years of Habitat 7 Rivers Maine and 50 years of Habitat for Humanity! 🔨💙

As we celebrate Nonprofit Day, we wanted to highlight a partnership we are truly proud of!

We’re proud to partner with United Way of Mid Coast Maine and grateful for their continued support of our work throughout the region! 💙💚

Check out this video featuring some of the work our Critical Home Repair team and volunteers completed for a homeowner in Harpswell.

Partnerships like this help us keep more of our neighbors safe, comfortable, and independent in the homes they already know and love.

Thank you, United Way of Mid Coast Maine, for being such a great partner in this work!

🏠 94 repairs. 147 people assisted. 4,156 volunteer hours.

Those numbers tell a pretty incredible story about the impact of our Critical Home Repair program this past year.

From accessibility improvements to repairs that help people stay safely in the homes they know and love, this work is about more than fixing houses. It’s about helping our neighbors remain safe, stable, and independent in their communities.

And we couldn’t do it without our volunteers. 💚

More than 4,000 volunteer hours, valued at over $150,000, went directly toward making these repairs possible.

Thank you to every volunteer, donor, partner, and supporter who helped make FY2026 such an impactful year.

Stronger homes. Stronger communities.

Good news for anyone shopping at Shaw's this month.

For all of August, Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers Maine is the featured cause for the GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Reusable Bag program at the Bath Shaw's Supermarket (1 Chandler Drive).

Every time someone buys one of these $3 reusable bags, $1 comes back to support our work building and repairing homes right here in our community.

It's a small thing that adds up fast, and it costs you nothing extra. Just grab a bag next time you're doing your regular shopping.

Thank you for supporting affordable housing in your own backyard, one bag at a time.

We are so grateful to Maine Association of REALTORS for their generous $10,000 grant!

Support like this makes a real difference for homeowners across the Midcoast who need critical repairs to stay safely in their homes. From fixing failing roofs and heating systems to weatherization and accessibility modifications, this kind of generosity is what makes it all possible.

Thank you for investing in our community. 🏠

We have some exciting news to share.

Please join us in welcoming Ian Tovell as the new Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers Maine!

Ian comes to us from Ketcha Outdoors, where he served as Development Director and grew fundraising revenue and community partnerships across Maine. He holds an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University and is active in the Maine nonprofit community as Board President of the Maine Planned Giving Council.

In his own words: "Housing is foundational to everything else, and I'm excited to advance this mission. One of my immediate priorities is growing our Critical Home Repair program. For a lot of families in our service area, staying safely in the home they already have is just as important as building new ones."

We are thrilled to have Ian leading the organization and are excited about what is ahead for Habitat 7 Rivers and the communities we serve across the Midcoast.

Welcome, Ian!

Last week this crew was out building a ramp for one of our Critical Home Repair clients.

Framing, decking, steps, the whole thing, done by volunteers who genuinely love this work.

When it's finished, a client gets a safe way in and out of their own home. That's what keeps this crew coming back.

Want to swing a hammer with us sometime? We'd love to have you.
