Here's a from the Y Archives:
๐On this day in 1965, the Bath YMCA purchased 47 acres of wooded property on the New Meadows River in West Bath from the Crooker family. That land would go on to become Camp Davenport, named in honor George Davenport, founding secretary of the Bath Y and noted philanthropist.
For more than 30 years, the camp would provide a summer respite for kids in the community, including for children with disabilities through a partnership with the Elmhurst Association.
Did you ever go to summer camp at Davenport? What Y memories did you make there?
