Happy Thanksgiving,
I know I speak for all of the board members with this message. We hope your Thanksgiving celebration is filled with laughter shared by family and friends.
I didn't know what to expect when I sent the first email at the end of September asking for participation at the Bath City Council meeting. I wasn't even sure how we were going to affect change. What I did have was faith in the Bath Community and especially the Morse Alumni as well as members of The Bath Golf Club. I knew that there would be those with the talents to help keep The Bath Golf Course an 18 hole course.
We still have a ways to go. Special thanks to:
David King for his guidance. Brian Hatch for his support from the Brunswick Golf Course providing us with invaluable information on the operation of a member run golf course. Board Members Alicia Romac (President) Chris Marco (Vice-President) Todd Marco (Treasurer), Vicki Sprague, Scott Mills, Morgan Decker and Sharon Snell (Members at Large) for their time and effort. With them we now have a nonprofit EIN, Application for nonprofit status, business plan, projected budget and bylaws all of which will be presented at a meeting in the first week of December. We will explain our next steps at the meeting as well. I will provide a solid date, time and location very soon. The biggest thanks to the current members who trusted us enough to give us the $20 dues so we could get this going.
I've said before, I am a realist and an optimist. What we're doing could turn into a hail Mary at the end but at the moment we still have a chance.
Now for the safety message. We now have a website under development by myself. I've been given the position of Communications officer. The short address is https://tlambgolf.com/ with two other longer addresses www.thelinksatmerrymeetingbay.org and www.thelinksatmerrymeetingbay.com. The latter won't direct to the actual site for another 45 days. In the future, all emails will be coming from tlamb.com. My address will appear as [email protected]. There are other tlamb.com addresses and I'll provide those soon. Do not send money to any organization claiming to be from The Links At Merrymeeting Bay. As I said, the site is still under development and pages will show up on the site as I go along. All of this cost us $35 which was paid for by the folks that have signed on as members. That price for the entire year.
Enjoy the rest of your Thanksgiving,
Billy
The Bath Golf Course is much more than an ordinary golf course. Situated far from highway noise and flight paths, it offers vistas and open space almost surrounded by forest and farmland. Since its founding in 1932 it has been an integral and indivisible part of the larger community’s social and e...
