This exciting event offers the rare opportunity to engage with one of the most compelling and poetic voices in global philosophy. Drawing from Yoruba cosmology, psychology, and social critique, Akomolafe invites audiences into a timely exploration of uncertainty and upheaval, sanctuary and displacement. โ€œThe times are urgent; let us slow downโ€, is his invitation to challenge our rush to solve problems with linear solutions, and notice the cracks where transformation becomes possible.

We've got a few more spots at the Chocolate Church Arts Center for guitar, bass guitar, or percussion with Freddy Larrosa this summer! From one of his current students, Zoe: "I have greatly enjoyed my guitar lessons with Freddy. He has helped me work on solidifying the basics while preserving the fun that comes with exploring auditory creativity."

We are over halfway to our goal! Pitch in this week to get us over the edge and help us finance one of our biggest renovations of the year: turning our dry cracked driveway into a smooth and finished parking lot for our staff, visitors, and audiences to walk and drive safely on.

Now through June 3rd, we need to raise $30,000 in order to unlock the generous matching gifts of three donors and reach the project total of $60,000.

With your support, we will continue to bring vital arts and vibrant community to Midcoast Maine, and potentially save some car tires and ankles in the process!
